Worked back and forth on circular needle to make room for all the YOs in diagram A.1. Cast on 80-88-88-96-104 sts on circular needle size 5.5 mm / US 9 with Big Delight. Work diagram A.1 (= 8 sts) – see explanation above – over all sts (= 10-11-11-12-13 repetitions in width). REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Repeat A.1 until piece measures 66-72-78-84-90 cm / 26"-28½"-30 3/4"-33"-35½". NOTE: Adjust to finish after 1 whole repetition of A.1. Bind off.

Fold the piece and sew cast-on edge to cast-on edge, from one corner and 8-8-8-8-6 cm / 3"-3"-3"-3"-2½" in, do the same with bind-off edge – see chart.

= K from WS
= K from RS
= K 1, 6 YO * K 1, 4 YO *, repeat from *-* until 2 sts remain, K 1, 6 YO, K 1
= let yarn for ball fall behind piece - slip the next 8 sts and drop the YOs off = 8 long sts on right needle. Slip these 8 sts back on left needle as follows: Insert left needle through the 4 innermost sts and pass them over the 4 outermost sts - then slip the 4 outermost sts on left needle but make sure that sts are placed nicely in a cross - K sts but make sure that the yarn is long enough at first st on needle.
