Worked back and forth on circular needle to make room for all the YOs in diagram A.1. Cast on 80-88-88-96-104 sts on circular needle size 5.5 mm / US 9 with Big Delight. Work diagram A.1 (= 8 sts) – see explanation above – over all sts (= 10-11-11-12-13 repetitions in width). REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Repeat A.1 until piece measures 66-72-78-84-90 cm / 26"-28½"-30 3/4"-33"-35½". NOTE: Adjust to finish after 1 whole repetition of A.1. Bind off.

Fold the piece and sew cast-on edge to cast-on edge, from one corner and 8-8-8-8-6 cm / 3"-3"-3"-3"-2½" in, do the same with bind-off edge – see chart.

= K from WS
= K from RS
= K 1, 6 YO * K 1, 4 YO *, repeat from *-* until 2 sts remain, K 1, 6 YO, K 1
= let yarn for ball fall behind piece - slip the next 8 sts and drop the YOs off = 8 long sts on right needle. Slip these 8 sts back on left needle as follows: Insert left needle through the 4 innermost sts and pass them over the 4 outermost sts - then slip the 4 outermost sts on left needle but make sure that sts are placed nicely in a cross - K sts but make sure that the yarn is long enough at first st on needle.

Gwyn 07.08.2014 - 01:52:

Hello! Why the 6 YOs at the beginning and end of row? Does this not distort the stitch?

DROPS Design 07.08.2014 kl. 10:50:

Dear Gwyn, you make 6 yos at the beg and end of rows because of the edge sts, so that edges are not too tight. Happy knitting!

Lada 27.03.2014 - 07:20:

I checked the tension again. OK. I'm probably didn't understand the scheme. Are stripes between Indian crosses knitted in garter or in stocking style?

DROPS Design 27.03.2014 kl. 10:29:

Dear Lada, you work 8 ridges in garter st between each Indian cross sts (K from RS and K from WS as shown in diagram)- there are 4 ridges in diagram before Indian cross sts). Happy knitting!

Lada 25.03.2014 - 09:13:

It seems that three balls is too much for this pattern.I knitted about 50 cm height = 1 ball/100 g of Big Delight.

DROPS Design 25.03.2014 kl. 09:30:

Dear Mrs Lada, do you have the correct tension as in pattern, ie 16 sts x 30 rows in garter st = 10 x 10 cm ? Happy knitting!

Lada 14.03.2014 - 10:40:

It looks volumetric/stout.Is this pattern knitted with 1 thread of DROPS BIG DELIGHT?

DROPS Design 14.03.2014 kl. 15:33:

Dear Lada, you are correct, this pattern is worked with only 1 thread DROPS Big Delight. Happy kniting!

Cheryl 05.01.2014 - 19:35:

It looks ok from the back, but the front? Yikes! too big, too bulky.
