CROCHET INFO:
Beg every dc round with ch 3 instead of 1 dc. Finish every round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round.

CIRCLE:
1st round: ch 4 and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. Work 10-10-10-12-12 dc in ch-ring. Read crochet info above!
2nd round: * 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* = 15-15-15-18-18 dc.
3rd round: * 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* = 22-22-22-27-27 dc.
4th round: * 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* = 33-33-33-40-40 dc.

COLOR CHANGE TIP:
Change color at the end of round so that the new color starts with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round.

STRIPE COLORS:
Start with light beige mix. Work 6 rounds in light beige mix, then 2 rounds with tan, 3 rounds with off white, 2 rounds with medium gray, 3 rounds with light gray.

CROCHET 2 STS TOG:
Work first st - but wait with last pull through - work next st and on last pull through, pull yarn though all sts on hook.
--------------------------------------------------------

HAT:
The piece is worked top down. Work on hook size 7mm/K/10½ and off white and work CIRCLE - see explanation above. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! Read CROCHET INFO!
When 4th round have been worked, work next round as follows: Work dc in every dc but inc 6-8-10-5-8 dc evenly = 39-41-43-45-48 dc. Continue to work 1 dc in every dc until piece measures approx. 16-17-18-19-20 cm / 6 1/4"-6 3/4"-7"-7½"-8". Read COLOR CHANGE TIP. Work 3 rounds with beige.
Fasten off.
Make a large pompom using both colors and fasten it at the top of the hat.

NECK WARMER:
Loosely ch 56 on hook size 8 mm / L/11 with light beige mix and form a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch. Work STRIPE COLORS - see explanation above.
1ST ROUND: ch 3, work 1 dc in every ch = 56 dc, finish with 1 sl st in first dc.
Continue the rounds like this until 5 rounds have been worked. On 6th round, dec 4 sts evenly by working every 13th and 14th st tog the entire round - see explanation above = 52 dc.
Continue with stripes. After last stripe, the neck warmer measures approx. 26 cm / 10 1/4'' vertically. Fasten off.
