"Then work 1 sc more between inc until 16 rounds have been worked = 96 sc" What does this mean? increase between each sc from previous row? or continue to increase as per previous rows?
22.11.2022 - 17:14DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Kachurowski, on the 7th round, work 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc, then increase, on the 8th round work 1 sc in each of the next 6 dc then increase and so on, this means you will crochet 1 sc more before working 2 sc in the same stitch on each round until there are 96 sc on the round. Happy crocheting!

Bon crochet!

It's a lovely pattern and I can't wait to crochet it but I do think it is written in American crochet terms and not British. Am I confused? Thanks!

Dear Marie, check that you choose the correct language by clicking on the arrow over "English(US/in)" or here to get the pattern in US-English. Happy crocheting!

PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Diagram A.1 shows how round beg and ends. Work A.2 6 times in total on round. CROCHET INFO-1: Replace first dc at beg of every dc round with 1 ch. Finish round with 1 sl st in first ch at beg of round. CROCHET INFO-2: Beg every round beg with dc, with 1 ch (this does not replace first dc) and finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round. ---------------------------------------------------------- BASKET: The piece is worked in the round from bottom up. Work 4 ch on hook size 5 mm with 2 strands Belle and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. ROUND 1: READ CROCHET INFO-1. Work 6 dc in ch-ring. ROUND 2: Work 2 dc in every dc = 12 dc. ROUND 3: Work * 1 dc in first/next dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 18 dc. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! ROUND 4: Work * 1 dc in each of the first/next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 24 dc. ROUND 6: Work * 1 dc in each of the first/next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 36 dc. Then work 1 dc more between inc until 16 rounds have been worked = 96 dc. Bottom measures approx. 20 cm in diameter. NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE! Now work the side of basket as follows: Work 1 dc in every dc until piece measures approx. 10 cm. Turn piece to work in opposite direction (this is done because the edge is folded outwards, and the pattern will be on RS). EDGE: Work pattern according to diagrams A.1 and A.2, i.e. work as follows: ROUND 1: Work 1 ch (does not replace first dc), * 1 dc in first/next dc, 4 ch, skip 3 dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round, finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round, work 2 sl sts around first ch-space = 24 dc and 24 ch-spaces. ROUND 2: READ CROCHET INFO-2. Work * 1 dc around first/next ch-space, 7 dtr around next ch-space *, repeat from *-* 12 times in total = 12 dtr groups and 12 dc. ROUND 3: Work 4 ch (replace last dtr at end of round), * 3 ch, skip 3 dtr, 1 dc in next dtr, 3 ch, skip 3 dtr, 1 dtr in next dtr, 4 ch, skip 1 dtr, 1 dtr in next dtr, 4 ch, skip 1 dtr, 1 dtr in next dtr, 4 ch, skip 1 dtr, 1 dtr in next dtr *, repeat from *-* 6 times in total, finish round with 1 sl st in 4th ch at beg of round = 24 dtr, 6 dc and 30 ch-space. ROUND 4: Work * 3 dc around each of the first/next 2 ch-spaces, 1 ch, 4 dc around next ch-space, 1 ch, 4 dc next ch-space, 1 ch, 4 dc around next ch-space, 1 ch *, repeat from *-* 6 times in total = 108 dc and 24 ch. Fasten off. Fold the edge outwards. |
