Graag uw advies.
25.03.2020 - 15:43DROPS Design answered:
Dag An,

The pattern is beautiful, however , the length in cm does not make any sense. The slippers are huge according to the length in the pattern. Can please check ?
16.11.2019 - 15:44DROPS Design answered:
Dear Tova, slippers will be felted, so that they should measure: before felting: Length: approx. 29½ -32½-37-40 cm and then after felting: Foot length 22 – 24 – 27 – 30 cm. Happy knitting!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPERS - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Worked back and forth in one piece. When piece is done, sew together and felt in washing machine. SLIPPER: EDGE AT THE BACK: Cast on 23-25-26-28 stitches on needle size 5.5 mm with grey. Work 8 ridges in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! HEEL: Now work short rows to shape the heel, knit all rows (= garter stitch). Switch to brown mix, begin from right side and work as follows: Knit until 1 stitch remain on row, turn and knit until 1 stitch remain on row. * Turn and knit until 1 stitch remain before previous turn, turn and knit until 1 stitch remain before previous turn *, work from *-* until 5-5-6-6 stitches remain in the middle of piece (9-10-10-11 turns in each side). Now work 1 stitch more on every turn until all stitches have been worked = 23-25-26-28 stitches. UNDER SIDE: Switch to ruby red. Work in stocking stitch, and on first row decrease 4 stitches evenly on row = 19-21-22-24 stitches. Work in stocking stitch for 19-20½-24½-27 cm. TOE: Now work short rows to shape the toe, knit all rows (=garter stitch). Switch to brown mix, begin from right side and work as follows: Knit until 1 stitch remain on row, turn and knit until 1 stitch remain on row. * Turn and knit until 1 stitch remain before previous turn, turn and knit until 1 stitch remain before previous turn *, work from *-* until 5-5-6-6 stitches remain in the middle of piece (7-8-8-9 turns in each side). Now work 1 stitch more on every turn until all stitches have been worked = 19-21-22-24 stitches. TOP SIDE: Switch to coral. Work in stocking stitch for 9-10-12-13 cm, on next row from right side increase 4 stitches evenly (increase with yarn over that are purled twisted on next row) = 23-25-26-28 stitches. Work in stocking stitch until 19-20½-24½-27 cm with stocking stitch have been worked, and next row is from right side. EDGE AT THE FRONT: Switch to grey and knit 2 rows (= 1 ridge) over all stitches. Then work short rows as follows, starting from right side: Knit 3, turn and knit back. Knit 4, turn and knit back. Knit 5, turn and knit back. Knit 6, turn and knit back. Knit 5, turn and knit back. Knit 4, turn and knit back. Knit over all stitches from right side. Work next row as follows from wrong side: Knit 3, turn and knit back. Knit 4, turn and knit back. Knit 5, turn and knit back. Knit 6, turn and knit back. Knit 5, turn and knit back. Knit 4, turn and knit back. Knit 1 row over all stitches from wrong side. Loosely cast off by knitting from right side. Cut the yarn. ASSEMBLY: Fold the piece at the toe, so that over side is on top of under side. Make sure that side of cast-on edge and side of cast-off edge is edge to edge (cast-on edge and cast-off edge form the hole to insert foot in slipper). Sew in front loop of edge stitch, begin in the side of cast-on/cast-off edge and sew up to toe. Repeat in the other side. FELTING: Place the slippers in the washing machine with a detergent without enzymes and optical bleach. Wash at 40 degrees with normal spin but no pre-wash. After wash, shape the slipper to the correct measurements while wet. At subsequent wash, wash as a regular wool garment. AFTER FELTING: If the piece is not felted enough and is too big: Wash the piece one more time in the washing machine while it is still wet add a terry towel that measures approx. 50 x 70 cm - NOTE: Do not use a short program. If the piece has been felted too much and is too small: While the piece is still wet stretch it to the correct measurements, if the piece is dry, make sure to soak it first. Remember: All subsequent washes are as a normal wool garment. |
