So, I would knit a twisted YO in the yo round rather than going back to the yo in the next round? I did that twist the YO in the next round in the first yo increase, I didn't realize you could twist the YO as you go. Is this correct? Thanks again!
21.09.2016 - 14:50DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sh, pattern says under "increase tip" to work YO twisted, but it's also a matter of taste, you can choose to work them either twisted or not - see example in stocking st below. Happy knitting!

Hello again and thank you for your help, I have another question and hopefully it will be the last one, I have added a yo after the purl stitches in the rib, do I now knit a round twisting the yo or do I just knit 2 purl 3?Thanks!
21.09.2016 - 11:26DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sh, rather work the YO twisted to avoid holes. Happy knitting!

Thank you for your reply. Did you mean "inc" not "dec"?
19.09.2016 - 23:28DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sh, oh yes sorry, you first work 1 round dec 36 sts, then work in stocking st until piece measure 7 cm, then work diagram A.3 in stocking st, 1 round stocking st, then 1 round inc 36 sts, 1 round stocking st and continue in rib with smaller needles. Happy knitting!

Hello! I am knitting the cowl without the pattern. Should I knit stokinette for 46 rounds? There are I believe 46 rows and 12 stitches in the pattern but if I am just knitting with one color would I knit for 46 rows after I reach 2 1/4 inch? Thanks
18.09.2016 - 14:29DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sh, if you don't work the pattern, you have first to work 2 cm in stocking st, then work the next 46 rows in stocking st, then 1 more round + 1 dec round + 1 more round before switching to smaller needle - remember to check your tension in height to match the pattern. Happy knitting!

Alvast bedankt!
30.09.2014 - 15:24DROPS Design answered:
Hoi Minke. Je begint en eindigt met boordsteek. Boven heb je 2 r/2 av en je eindigt met 2 r/5 av. Er is geen verschil in de dikte.

INCREASE TIP: Inc with YO, K YO twisted on next round to avoid holes. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked in the round on circular needle, switch to double pointed needles when needed. Cast on 116 sts with light pearl grey on circular needle size 3.5 mm. Work rib K 2/P 2 until rib measures 4 cm. Switch to circular needle size 4 mm. K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME dec 8 sts evenly = 108 sts. Then work pattern according to diagram A.1 (= 9 repetitions on round). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When A.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, continue with light pearl grey and stocking st. Work 1 round AT THE SAME TIME insert 9 markers in the hat with 12 sts between every marker. On next round, dec 1 st after every marker by K 2 tog. Repeat dec every other round 10 times in total = 18 sts remain on needle. On next round K all sts tog 2 by 2 = 9 sts on needle. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. The hat measures approx. 25 cm vertically. ---------------------------------------------------------- NECK WARMER: Worked in the round on circular needle, top down. Work 1 round in stocking st. Switch to circular needle size 3.5 mm and work rib = K 2/P 2 until rib measures 2 cm. Inc 1 st in every P section by making a YO after P sts = 225-240 sts on needle. Then work rib = K 2/P 3. Work until rib measures 4 cm. Inc the same way again but inc before P sts = 270-288 sts on needle. Then work rib K 2/P 4 until rib measures 6 cm. Inc the same way again but inc after P sts = 315-336 sts on needle. Then work rib K 2/P 5 until rib measures 8 cm. Cast off sts with K over K and P over P. Neck warmer measures approx. 32 cm. ---------------------------------------------------------- WRIST WARMER: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 52 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm with light pearl grey. Work rib K 2/P 2 until piece measures 3 cm. Switch to double pointed needles size 4 mm, K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME dec 12 sts evenly = 40 sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION Then work as follows: Work A.2 (= 4 sts) 1 time, A.3 (= 12 sts) 3 times. When diagram A.2 and A.3 have been worked 1 time vertically, work 1 round with light pearl grey AT THE SAME TIME inc 12 sts evenly - READ INCREASE TIP! = 52 sts. Then work rib = K 2/P 2 until rib measures 4 cm. Cast off sts with K over K and P over P. Piece measures approx. 24 cm. Work another wrist warmer the same way. |
