On next row (= WS) P YO twisted, i.e. work in the back loop of st instead of front to avoid holes. BUTTON HOLES: Cast off for 1st and 2nd button hole on collar at end of row from RS as follows: Work until 4 sts remain, cast off the next 2 sts, P 2. Cast off for 3rd and 4th button hole on collar at beg of row from RS as follows: P 4 sts, cast off the next 2 sts. On next row cast on 2 new sts over the cast off sts. Cast off for button holes when collar measures: SIZE S/M: 9, 17, 25 and 33 cm. SIZE L/XL: 10, 18, 26 and 34 cm. SIZE XXL/XXXL: 11, 19, 27 and 35 cm. -------------------------------------------------------- BODY: Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 180-192-208-224-244-264 sts on circular needle size 5 mm with Verdi. Work 6 rounds in garter st - See explanation above. Then continue in stocking st until finished measurements. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 10-11-12-13-14-15 cm, insert 4 markers in piece as follows (round beg in the side): K 24-24-26-26-28-28 sts, insert 1 marker, K 42-48-52-60-66-76 sts, insert 1 marker, K 48-48-52-52-56-56 sts, insert 1 marker, K 42-48-52-60-66-76 sts, insert 1 marker, K 24-24-26-26-28-28 sts (= rest of round). Move the markers upwards when working. On next round, dec 1 st on each side of every marker - Read decrease tip above = 8 sts dec on round. Repeat dec every 5 cm a total of 6 times = 132-144-160-176-196-216 sts (piece measures approx. 35-36-37-38-39-40 cm). Continue until piece measures 41-42-43-44-45-46 cm, then inc 1 st on each side of every marker - See increase tip above = 8 new sts on round. When piece measures 47-48-49-50-51-52 cm, repeat inc one more time = 148-160-176-192-212-232 sts. NOTE: Remove the 4 markers and insert 2 new markers (to mark the sides) on next round as follows (round beg in the side): Insert 1 marker, K 74-80-88-96-106-116 sts (= back), insert 1 marker, K 74-80-88-96-106-116 sts (= front). Move the markers upwards when working. Continue to work until piece measures 53-54-55-56-57-58 cm. Now divide the piece at the markers and finish each part separately. BACK PIECE: = 74-80-88-96-106-116 sts. Continue back and forth on needle - AT THE SAME TIME cast on 1 new st at the end of the next 2 rows for sleeves. Size S - XXL Then cast on new sts at the end of every row in each side as follows: 1 st a total of 2-2-2-2-6 times, 2 sts a total of 4-4-4-4-0 times = 96-102-110-118-120 sts. SIZE XXXL: Work 2 rows. Then cast on 1 new st at the end of the next 2 rows. Work 2 rows, then cast on 1 new st at the end of every row a total of 3 times in each side = 126 sts. Continue to work until piece measures 72-74-76-78-80-82 cm. Now cast off the middle 24-24-26-26-30-30 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue to cast off 2 sts on next row from neck = 41-43-44-46-45-47 sts remain on shoulder. Loosely cast off when piece measures 74-76-78-80-82-84 cm. FRONT PIECE: = 74-80-88-96-106-116 sts. Cast off from RS at beg of every row as follows: 2 sts 2 times for all sizes. Then dec 1 st from RS at beg of every 4th row a total of 3-3-2-2-3-3 times = 41-43-44-46-45-47 sts remain on shoulder. Loosely cast off when piece measures 74-76-78-80-82-84 cm. SLEEVE: Worked in the round on double pointed needles size 5 mm. Cast on 38-40-40-42-44-46 sts and work 6 rounds in garter st. Insert a marker at beg of round = mid under sleeve. Then work in stocking st. When piece measures 7 cm in all sizes, inc 1 st on both sides of marker = 2 new sts on round. Repeat inc every 7-6-5-4½-4-4 cm a total of 5-6-7-8-9-9 times = 48-52-54-58-62-64 sts. When piece measures 42 cm in all sizes, loosely cast off all sts. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams tog. Sew underarm seams inside 1 edge st. Sew in sleeves. COLLAR: Worked in rib back and forth on circular needle size 4.5 mm. K next row (= WS) - while AT THE SAME TIME adjusting no of sts around the neck to 80-80-84-84-88-88 = a total of 86-86-90-90-94-94 sts (incl 6 sts for band). On next row (= RS) work rib as follows: * P 2, K 2 *, repeat from *-*, finish with P 2 = 20-20-21-21-22-22 P sections around the neck + 2 P sections on band. Continue with rib (P 2/K 2) until piece measures 8-8-9-9-10-10 cm. On next row from RS, inc 1 st in each of the first 20-20-21-21-22-22 P sections around the neck - Read increase tip above = 106-106-111-111-116-116 sts (rib around neck = P 3/K 2). NOTE: Do not inc over the 6 band sts. When rib measures 9-9-10-10-11-11 cm, cast off for 1st button hole at the end of row from RS (in band) - See explanation above. Continue to work until rib measures 15-15-16-16-17-17 cm. On next row from RS, inc 1 st in each of the first 20-20-21-21-22-22 K sections - Read increase tip above = 126-126-132-132-138-138 sts (rib around neck = P 3/K 3). Continue to work until rib measures 22-22-23-23-24-24 cm. On next row from RS, inc 1 st in each of the first 20-20-21-21-22-22 P sections = 146-146-153-153-160-160 sts (rib around neck = P 4/K 3). Continue to work until rib measures 29-29-30-30-31-31 cm. On next row from RS, inc 1 st in each of the first 20-20-21-21-22-22 K sections = 166-166-174-174-182-182 sts (rib around neck = P 4/K 4). Continue to work until rib measures 35-35-36-36-37-37 cm. Then loosely cast off all sts with K over K and P over P. Fold band over collar and sew bottom edge to neck edge. Fold collar at the middle, sew on 1st and 2nd button on collar and 3rd and 4th button on band. |
