Dear Sofia, we don't make custom patterns. You can check this lesson on how to calculate a pattern according to your gauge. Then, once you know how many initial stitches you have you can calculate through rule-of-three how to adjust the rest of the instructions. Happy knitting!

It says to make sure to keep the seam elastic, is there a specific way to sew the ribbing for the neck to make sure it stays elastic?

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, on next round knit yarns over as explained below: BEFORE RAGLAN STITCH: Slip stitch off left needle and put it back on left needle but the opposite way (insert left needle in from behind when slipping it back on needle). Knit yarn overs in front loop of stitches to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. AFTER RAGLAN STITCH: Knit yarn overs in back loop of stitches to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread and knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is in the middle of these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 2 stitches decreased). SLEEVE TIP: When picking up stitches mid under sleeve, there will be a small hole in the transition between stitches on body and sleeves. The holes can be closed by picking up the strand between two stitches - work this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve so that the holes closes. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: In this pattern needles of different length have been used, begin with fitting length for number of stitches and switch as needed. Work neck edge and yoke in the round on circular needle from right shoulder back, and work top down. When yoke is done, divide piece for body and sleeves. Work body downwards in the round on circular needle while putting the sleeves aside. Then work sleeves downwards in the round on needle. Fold the neck edge double against the wrong side and fasten. NECK EDGE: Cast on 88-88-92-96-100-104-108 stitches on circular needle size 5 mm with DROPS Alaska. Switch to circular needle size 4 mm (cast on on a larger needle to get an elastic cast-on edge). Work rib in the round (= knit 1/purl 1) for 9-9-9-9-11-11-11 cm. Later the neck edge is folded in towards wrong side and assembled to form a neck edge of approx. 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm. Beginning of round is at right shoulder at the back. Insert 1 marker after the first 32-32-33-34-35-36-37 stitches on round (= approx. mid front), measures piece from this marker. YOKE: Continue with circular needle size 5 mm. Insert 4 markers in piece without working the stitches, insert markers in a knit stitch; these stitches are called raglan stitches. Insert 1st marker in first stitch, count 17 stitches (= sleeve), insert 2nd marker in next stitch, count 25-25-27-29-31-33-35 stitches (= front piece), insert 3rd marker in next stitch, count 17 stitches (= sleeve), insert 4th marker in next stitch, 25-25-27-29-31-33-35 stitches remain after last marker (= back piece). Work 1 round as follows: * Knit 19 stitches, knit the next 25-25-27-29-31-33-35 stitches AT THE SAME TIME increase 2-4-4-4-4-6-6 stitches evenly over these stitches (= 27-29-31-33-35-39-41 stitches) *, work from *-* 1 more time = 92-96-100-104-108-116-120 stitches. Now work in stocking stitches and increase for RAGLAN - read explanation above, work as follows: ROUND 1: Work in stocking stitch over all stitches AT THE SAME TIME increase for raglan on each side of every raglan stitch (= 8 stitches increased). ROUND 2: Work in stocking stitch over all stitches - remember to work the yarn overs as explained above. Work 1st and 2nd ROUND 6-8-10-13-13-13-11 times in total (= 12-16-20-26-26-26-22 rounds worked) = 140-160-180-208-212-220-208 stitches. Remember to follow the knitting tension! Then work and increase as follows: ROUND 1: Work in stocking stitch and increase for raglan only on front piece and back piece, i.e. increase after 2nd and 4th marker and before 3rd and 1st marker no increase on sleeves (= 4 stitches increased). ROUND 2: Work in stocking stitch over all stitches - remember to work the yarn overs as explained above. ROUND 3: Work in stocking stitch over all stitches AT THE SAME TIME increase for raglan on each side of every raglan stitch (= 8 stitches increased). ROUND 4: Work in stocking stitch over all stitches - remember to work the yarn overs as explained above. Work 1st to 4th ROUND 7-7-7-6-7-8-10 times (= 28-28-28-24-28-32-40 rounds worked). All increases for raglan are now done, 20-22-24-25-27-29-31 times in total on front piece and back piece and 13-15-17-19-20-21-21 times on sleeves = 224-244-264-280-296-316-328 stitches on needle. Work without increasing until piece measures 19-20-22-23-25-27-29 cm from marker after neck edge. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. DIVIDING FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: Work next round as follows: Slip the first 45-49-53-57-59-61-61 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-12-14-16-20 new stitches on needle (= in the side mid under sleeve), work 67-73-79-83-89-97-103 stitches in stocking stitch (= front piece), slip the next 45-49-53-57-59-61-61 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-12-14-16-20 new stitches on needle (= in the side mid under sleeve), and work in stocking stitch over the last 67-73-79-83-89-97-103 stitches (= back piece). Work body and sleeves separately and beginning of round is in the transition between body and sleeve. BODY: = 150-162-178-190-206-226-246 stitches. Work stocking stitch until piece measures 49-51-53-55-56-58-60 cm from marker mid front. Switch to circular needles size 4 mm and work rib (= knit 1/purl 1) while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 20-20-20-22-24-26-28 stitches evenly on 1st round = 170-182-198-212-230-252-274 stitches. When rib measures 7-7-7-7-8-8-8 cm, cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Jumper measures 56-58-60-62-64-66-68 cm from marker mid front and approx. 62-64-66-68-70-72-74 cm from the top of shoulder. SLEEVES: Slip 45-49-53-57-59-61-61 sleeve stitches from one thread on to circular needle size 5 mm and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 8-8-10-12-14-16-20 stitches cast on under sleeve - read SLEEVE TIP = 53-57-63-69-73-77-81 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in the middle of the 8-8-10-12-14-16-20 new stitches under sleeve - round begins at the marker thread. Work in stocking stitch in the round on needle - AT THE SAME TIME when sleeve measures 2 cm from division, decrease mid under sleeve – read DECREASE TIP and decrease as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 14-8-6-4½-4-3½-3 cm 4-6-8-10-11-12-13 times in total = 45-45-47-49-51-53-55 stitches. Work until sleeve measures 48-48-47-46-44-42-40 cm from division. Switch to double pointed needles size 4 mm and work rib (= knit 1/purl 1) while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 7-7-5-7-5-7-5 stitches evenly on 1st round = 52-52-52-56-56-60-60 stitches. When rib measures 7-7-7-7-8-8-8 cm, cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Sleeve measures approx. 55-55-54-53-52-50-48 cm from division. ASSEMBLY: Fold rib at the top of neck down on inside of garment. Fasten rib to get a double neck edge. To avoid a tight neck edge that sticks out it is important to keep the seam elastic. |
