Bon tricot!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. INCREASE TIP: INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE LEFT AFTER MARKER: Use left needle to pick up yarn between 2 stitches from round below, pick up yarn from the front and knit stitch in back loop of stitch. INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE RIGHT BEFORE MARKER: Use left needle to pick up yarn between 2 stitches from round below, pick up yarn from the back and knit stitch in front loop of stitch. I-CORD: FIRST 2 STITCHES: Work as follows on every row: Slip 1 stitch purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1. LAST 2 STITCHES: Work as follows on every row: Work until 2 stitches remain on needle, slip 1 stitch purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1. GARTER STITCH (back and forth on needle): Knit on all rows, i.e. knit from right side and knit from wrong side. 1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- NECK WARMER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF PIECE: Work neck edge and yoke in the round on circular needle from back of shoulder, top down. Divide the piece for front piece and back piece and finish each part separately back and forth. NECK EDGE: Cast on 88-96 stitches on circular needle size 5.5 mm with 1 strand DROPS Merino Extra Fine and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (= 2 strands) or 1 strand DROPS Karisma and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (= 2 strands). Switch to circular needle size 4 mm (cast on on a larger needle to get an elastic cast-on edge). Insert 1 marker thread at beginning of round and work in the round rib and PATTERN - read explanation above: * Work A.1, knit 2, A.1, work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) over the next 20-24 stitches, knit 2 *, work from *-* one more time. Continue rib in the round like this for 7 cm. Insert 1 marker in piece here, measure yoke from this marker. YOKE: Switch to circular needle size 5.5 mm. Work next round as follows: Work A.1, knit 2, A.1 as before (= 22 shoulder stitches), insert 1st marker here, Work in stocking stitch over the next 22-26 stitches (= front piece), insert 2nd marker here, Work A.1, knit 2, A.1 as before (= 22 shoulder stitches), insert 3rd marker here, Work in stocking stitch over the next 22-26 stitches (= back piece), insert 4th marker (= beginning of round) SADDLE SHOULDER INCREASE: Work pattern over shoulder stitches as before and in stocking stitch over front piece and back piece, AT THE SAME TIME increase 4 stitches on round as follows: Increase AFTER 1st and 3rd marker, and BEFORE 2nd and 4th marker - read INCREASE TIP Increase only on front piece and back piece and number of shoulder stitches stays the same. Increase like this every round 18 times in total = 160-168 stitches. Remember to follow the knitting tension! After last increase piece measures approx. 9 cm from marker in neck. On next round (= last round worked in the round) cast off stitches for shoulders, then finish front piece and back piece separately back and forth. Purl 2, knit 2, cast off the next 14 stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl AT THE SAME TIME make 1 yarn over in the middle of every purl section (this is done to make the edge elastic - cast off yarn over as if it was 1 stitch), knit 2, purl 2, work 58-62 stitches in stocking stitch, purl 2, knit 2 (= 66-70 stitches for front piece), cast off the next 14 stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl AT THE SAME TIME make 1 yarn over in the middle of every purl section, knit 2, purl 2, work 58-62 stitches in stocking stitch, finish with 2 purl and 2 knit (= 66-70 stitches for back piece). Then work front piece and back piece back and forth separately. BACK PIECE: = 66-70 stitches. Work 1st row from wrong side as follows: Work 2 stitches I-CORD - read explanation above, work 2 stitches in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above, work in stocking stitch until 4 stitches remain on row, work 2 stitches in garter stitch, and finish with 2 stitches i-cord. Work back and forth like this for 1 cm, on next row from right side decrease 1 stitch in each side inside band and 1 stitch in stocking stitch as follows: Work i-cord, work 2 stitches in garter stitch, knit 1, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, lift slipped stitch over stitch worked, work in stocking stitch until 7 stitches remain on row, knit 2 together, knit 1, work 2 stitches in garter stitch, finish with i-cord. Decrease like this every 4th row (i.e. every other row from right side) 8 times in total in each side = 50-54 stitches. Piece measures approx. 24 cm from marker in neck. When decreases are done, work last row from wrong side. Now work rib. Switch to circular needle size 4 mm and work 1st row from right side as follows: Work i-cord, 2 stitches in garter stitch, work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) AT THE SAME TIME increase 8 stitches evenly until 6 stitches remain, finish with 2 knit, 2 stitches in garter stitch and i-cord = 58-62 stitches. Work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) with edge stitches and garter stitch as before in each side until rib measures 4 cm. Cast off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl. The piece measures approx. 31 cm from the top of shoulder in both sizes. FRONT PIECE: Slip stitches for front piece on circular needle size 5.5 mm. Work as back piece. |
