I cannot tell if the knit/purl sections are to be offset from each other or if they are all to line up like broken ribbing. The work I've done on the pattern seems to have the knit/purl sections line up, so it looks like a broken riv, but I can't tell from the pictures if that is correct. The pictures look more' like the purl sections are offset. Can you please let me know what is correct? If it is offset, I'd there an correction to the A1 chart? Thank you.

Dear Mrs Cleveland, the Purl sections in A.1 should line up in each repeat, but on row 5 and 6 you will purl the stitches that were knitted on row 1 and 2 and you will knit the stitches that were purled on row 1 and 2. Happy knitting!

When I'm working the raglan increases, how do I get the pattern to fit? I can fit the first section but from the second set of increases it is wrong.
13.11.2024 - 11:43DROPS Design answered:
Dear Hannah, you should just work the new stitches as the last stitches a new repeat (from left towards the right) at the beg of back piece/sleeves/front pieces and work them as a new repeat starting (from right towards the left) at the end of back piece/sleeves/front pieces. Happy knitting!

How many skeins does it take for the pattern and $ per skein?
11.06.2023 - 20:55DROPS Design answered:
Hi LaRee, The number of skeins depends on the size you are working: The different sizes are S - M - L - XL - XXL - XXXL and each size uses 250-250-300-350-350-400 g Drops Air in 50g skeins (5-5-6-7-7-8 skeins). As regards price, you need to go to your local dealers as the price varies from place to place and dealer to dealer. Happy crafting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch on each side of 2 knitted stitch in each transition between body and sleeves (8 increased stitches on the round). Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is knitted twisted on the next round to avoid a hole. The new stitches are worked into the pattern. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on either side of the marker as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down. The yoke is divided for body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round. The sleeves are worked with short circular needle/double pointed needles. DOUBLE NECK: Cast on 88-88-96-96-104-104 stitches with DROPS Air using short circular needle size 4 and 5 mm held together. Remove the needle size 5 mm keeping the stitches on the circular needle size 4 mm (this gives you an elastic cast-on edge). Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 11 cm. Fold the neck double to the inside. Work 1 more round of rib, working every 4th stitch together with its corresponding stitch on the cast-on edge. You now have a double neck. The yoke is measured from here. YOKE: Change to circular needle size 5 mm. Insert 4 markers AT THE SAME TIME as you work the stitches (start in the transition between the back piece and the right sleeve): Knit 2 and insert 1 marker between these 2 stitches, work A.1 over the next 12 stitches (sleeve), knit 2 and insert 1 marker between these 2 stitches, work A.1 over the next 28-28-32-32-36-36 stitches (front piece), knit 2 and insert 1 marker between these 2 stitches, work A.1 over the next 12 stitches (sleeve), knit 2 and insert 1 marker between these 2 stitches, work A.1 over the last 28-28-32-32-36-36 stitches (back piece). READ THE NEXT SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! Continue A.1 with 2 knitted stitches in each raglan-line. AT THE SAME TIME on the next round start to increase for RAGLAN – read description above. Increase for raglan every 2nd round. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 9-10-11-12-13-14 cm after the neck, work A.2 over all stitches – the increases for raglan continue but the 2 stitches in each raglan-line are now stitches in A.2. When A.2 is finished in height, continue with A.1 and 2 knitted stitches in each raglan-line. Continue this pattern and increase for raglan a total of 20-23-25-28-30-34 times = 248-272-296-320-344-376 stitches. Continue the pattern without further increases until the piece measures 21-23-24-26-28-31 cm measured after the neck. Now divide for the body and sleeves as follows: Start the round before the 2 knitted stitches on the raglan-line between the back piece and the right sleeve, work A.2 over all stitches: Work 4-5-5-4-6-8 stitches in A.2 (part of back piece), place the next 48-52-56-64-64-68 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-10 stitches (in side under sleeve), work 76-84-92-96-108-120 stitches in A.2 (front piece), place the next 48-52-56-64-64-68 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-10 stitches (in side under sleeve), work the last 72-79-87-92-102-112 stitches in A.2 (rest of back piece = 76-84-92-96-108-120 stitches in total on the back piece). BODY: = 164-180-200-208-236-260 stitches. Continue in the round with A.2 over all stitches. When A.2 is finished in height, continue with stocking stitch. When the body measures 29-29-30-30-30-29 cm from the division, knit 1 round and increase 20-20-24-24-24-28 stitches evenly spaced = 184-200-224-232-260-288 stitches. Change to circular needle size 4 mm. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 5 cm. Cast off a little loosely. The jumper measures approx. 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm from the shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 48-52-56-64-64-68 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on short circular needle/double pointed needles size 5 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the new stitches cast on under the sleeve = 54-58-64-72-74-78 stitches. Insert a marker in the middle of the new stitches under the sleeve = start of the round. Continue in the round with pattern A.2. When A.2 is finished in height, continue with stocking stitch. When the sleeve measures 4-4-4-4-3-3 cm decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 8-5-4-2½-2½-2 cm a total of 5-7-9-13-13-15 times = 44-44-46-46-48-48 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 40-39-38-37-34-32 cm from the division (or to desired length. There is approx. 5 cm left). Knit 1 round and increase 4-4-6-6-4-4 stitches evenly spaced = 48-48-52-52-52-52 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm and work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 5 cm. Cast off a little loosely. Work the other sleeve in the same way. |
