Knitting tension: 23 stitches x 30 rows with needle size 3.5 mm and pattern = 10 x 10 cm. Remember needle size is only a guide! Crochet tension: 8 repeats of M.2 in width / 24 double crochets x 13 repeats in height with hook size 3 mm = 10 x 10 cm. 1 repeat of M.2 / 3 double crochets = 1.25 cm. Remember hook size is only a guide! Pattern: See diagram. (1 diagram = 1 repeat). The pattern in the diagram is seen from right side. M.1 is in stocking stitch. Crochet pattern: Turn piece after each row. Pattern is divisible by 3 + 2 double crochets. Ridge/Garter stitch (back and forth on needle): 1 ridge = Knit 2 rows. Ridge/Garter stitch (worked in round): 1 ridge = 2 rounds. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round. -------------------------------------------------------------- Body: Cast on 215 (231-243) stitches (incl. 2 edge stitches in each side towards mid front) with circular needle size 3.5 mm and brown and work 2 ridges. Then work M.1 upwards, but the outermost 2 stitches towards mid front are always worked in garter stitch. Remember the knitting tension. When piece measures 17 (17-17) cm work next row as follows: 53 (57-60) stitches front piece, cast off 4 stitches for armhole, 101 (109-115) stitches back piece, cast off 4 stitches, 53 (57-60) stitches front piece. Each piece is finished separately. Front piece: = 53 (57-60) stitches. Continue to cast off for armhole every 2nd row: 3 stitches x 1 (1-2), 2 stitches x 2 (3-3), 1 stitch x 2 (3-2) = 44 (45-46) stitches. When piece measures 22 (22-23) cm cast off for neck every 2nd row: 3 (3-4) stitches x 1, 2 stitches x 3, 1 stitch x 8, every 4th row: 1 stitch x 2, every 6th row: 1 stitch x 1. Cast off when piece measures 38 (39-40) cm. Back piece: = 101 (109-115) stitches. Continue to cast off for armholes as for front piece = 83 (85-87) stitches. When piece measures 36 (37-38) cm cast off middle 29 (29-31) stitches for neck. Then cast off each side towards neck every 2nd row: 2 stitches x 1, 1 stitch x 1. Cast off when piece measures 38 (39-40) cm. Sleeve: Cast on 72 (74-78) stitches with double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and brown and work 2 ridges. Then work M.1 upwards, at the same time as, after the ridges, you increase mid under sleeve: 2 stitches x 8 (9-9) every round = 88 (92-96) stitches. When piece measures 4 (4-3) cm cast off 4 stitches mid under sleeve and the piece is finished working back and forth on needle. Continue to cast off for sleeve cap in each side every 2nd row: 3 stitches x 2, 2 stitches x 10 (12-13), 3 stitches x 2, cast off. Piece measures approx. 15 (16-16) cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Knit up approx. 125-135 stitches with circular needle size 3 mm around neck and work 2 ridges. Cast off. Broad crochet edge on body: The crochet edge is worked back and forth with brown and hook size 3 mm. Work a row of approx. 221 (236-248) double crochets (divisible by 3 + 2 stitches) around the garter stitch edge at bottom of body. Then work M.2 downwards until piece measures approx. 49 (50-52) cm. Crochet edge on sleeves: Crochet edge is worked back and forth from mid under sleeve with brown and hook size 3 mm. Work a row of approx. 71 (74-80) double crochets (divisible by 3 + 2 stitches) around the garter stitch edge at bottom of sleeve. Then work 3 rows of M.2. Sew the crochet edge together mid under sleeve. Work 2 rows of approx. 75-85 double crochets along right front piece. Repeat along left front piece but row 1 is worked with 4 buttonholes evenly spaced between crochet edge at bottom and neck by working 2 chain stitches instead of 2 double crochets. Sew in sleeves and sew on buttons. |
