Bonsoir.

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (worked in the round): 1 ridge vertically = 2 rounds, i.e. knit 1 round and purl 1 round. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Choose diagram for your size. INCREASE TIP-1 (evenly): To calculate how to increase evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 122 stitches) and divide stitches by number of increases to be done (e.g. 32) = 3.8. In this example increase by making 1 yarn over after approx. every 4th stitch. On next round work yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. INCREASE TIP-2 (applies to sides of body): Work until 2 stitches remain before marker thread, 1 yarn over, knit 4 (marker thread is in the middle of these stitches), 1 yarn over. On next round knit yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. DECREASE TIP (applies to sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread and knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is between these stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked. CAST-OFF TIP: To avoid a tight cast-off edge you may use a larger needle. If this also is too tight, work a 1 yarn over after approx. every 4th stitch and cast off these as regular stitches. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work neck edge and yoke in the round on circular needle from mid back, top down. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. Body is worked in the round on circular needle, top down. Work sleeves in the round on double pointed needles/short circular needle, top down. NECK EDGE: Cast on 122-130-134-142-146-154 stitches on short circular needle size 2.5 mm with Baby Alpaca Silk. Work 2 ridges in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above. Then work in 2 rounds in stocking stitch. Switch to circular needle size 3 mm. Insert a marker here, measure yoke from this marker! YOKE: Now work pattern A.1 (= 2 stitches - choose diagram for your size) on round. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Continue in the round like this and on every round with arrow increase stitches evenly - read INCREASE TIP-1 as follows: ARROW-1: Increase 32-34-38-38-40-44 stitches = 154-164-172-180-186-198 stitches. ARROW-2: Increase 32-34-38-38-40-44 stitches = 186-198-210-218-226-242 stitches. ARROW-3: Increase 32-34-38-38-40-44 stitches = 218-232-248-256-266-286 stitches. ARROW-4: Increase 32-34-38-38-40-44 stitches = 250-266-286-294-306-330 stitches. ARROW-5: Increase 32-34-38-38-40-44 stitches = 282-300-324-332-346-374 stitches. ARROW-6: Increase 32-34-38-38-40-44 stitches = 314-334-362-370-386-418 stitches. In size S, M and L increase is done. In size XL, XXL and XXXL continue increase on Arrow-7 as follows: Increase 38-40-44 stitches = 408-426-462 stitches. Piece measures 14-14-14-17-17-17 cm from marker thread when the diagram is finished. Now continue piece in the round in stocking stitch. When piece measures 15-16-17-18-20-22 cm, increase 0-18-22-10-22-22 stitches evenly = 314-352-384-418-448-484 stitches. When piece measures 16-18-20-22-24-26 cm from marker, divide piece for body and sleeves. Work next round as follows: Work the first 45-50-54-60-66-73 stitches, slip the next 67-76-84-89-92-96 stitches on a stitch holder for sleeve, cast on 10-10-12-12-14-14 new stitches on needle (= under sleeve), work the next 90-100-108-120-132-146 stitches, slip the next 67-76-84-89-92-96 stitches on a stitch holder for sleeve, cast on 10-10-12-12-14-14 new stitches on needle (= under sleeve), work the remaining 45-50-54-60-66-73 stitches on needle. NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE! BODY: = 200-220-240-264-292-320 stitches. Insert a marker thread in the middle of the new 10-10-12-12-14-14 new stitches cast on under sleeve (= 100-110-120-132-146-160 stitches between marker threads in each side). Work in stocking stitch in the round. When piece measures 4 cm, increase 1 stitch on each side of marker thread in each side - read INCREASE TIP-2. Increase like this approx. every 3 cm 5 times in total = 220-240-260-284-312-340 stitches. When piece measures 24 cm, increase 16-20-20-24-28-28 stitches evenly = 236-260-280-308-340-368 stitches. Switch to circular needle size 2.5 mm. Now work a edge as follows: * Knit 2, 2 stitches in garter stitch *, work from *-* in the round When edge measures 2 cm, cast off with knit over knit and purl over garter stitch - read CAST-OFF TIP. Jumper measures approx. 46-48-50-52-54-56 cm from shoulder and down. SLEEVE: Slip the 67-76-84-89-92-96 stitches from stitch holder in one side of piece on a short circular needle/double pointed needles size 3 mm and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 10-10-12-12-14-14 stitches cast on under sleeve = 77-86-96-101-106-110 stitches. Insert a marker thread in the middle of the new stitches under sleeve (= 5-5-6-6-7-7 new stitches on each side of marker thread). Work in stocking stitch in the round. When piece measures 4-4-4-4-3-2 cm, decrease 2 stitches under sleeve - read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this approx. every 3-2-1-1-1-1 cm 8-12-16-17-18-19 times in total = 61-62-64-67-70-72 stitches. When piece measures 30-28-27-25-23-22 cm increase 3-2-4-5-2-4 stitches evenly = 64-64-68-72-72-76 stitches. Switch to double pointed needles size 2.5 mm. Now work a edge as follows: * Knit 2, 2 stitches in garter stitch *, work from *-* in the round When edge measures 2 cm, cast off with knit over knit and purl over garter stitch - read CAST-OFF TIP. Sleeve measures 32-30-29-27-25-24 cm from division and down. |
