Men genseren er ganske A-formet. Noe som kommer dårlig frem fra starten/bildene.

This was the first top down sweater I’ve ever knitted and only my second colour way. It was a dream to knit with a very easy to follow pattern. I loved knitting it and my daughter loves wearing it. Thank you.

EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- ELEVATION (back of neck): Skip this section if you do not want an elevation; the neck will then be the same front and back. Insert 1 marker at the beginning of the round (= mid back). Start from the right side with light grey and knit 11-12-12-13-13-14 stitches past the marker, turn, tighten the strand and purl 22-24-24-26-26-28 stitches. Turn, tighten the strand and knit 33-36-36-39-39-42 stitches, turn, tighten the strand and purl 44-48-48-52-52-56 stitches. Turn, tighten the strand and knit 55-60-60-65-65-70 stitches, turn, tighten the strand and purl 66-72-72-78-78-84 stitches. Turn, tighten the strand and knit to mid back. Then work YOKE as described in the text. PATTERN: Jumper: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Choose diagram for your size (applies to A.1). Head band: See diagram A.3. The whole pattern is worked in stocking stitch. KNITTING TIP (for Nordic pattern): To avoid the knitting tension becoming tighter when working pattern it is important that the strands at the back of the piece are not tight. You can use a larger needle size when working pattern if this is a problem. INCREASE/DECREASE TIP (evenly spaced): To work out how to increase/decrease evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g. 80 stitches) and divide by the number of increases/decreases to be made (e.g. 4) = 20. In this example, increase by making 1 yarn over after each 20th stitch. On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. When decreasing, knit each 19th and 20th stitch together. INCREASE TIP-1 (for sides of body): Start 2 stitches before the marker thread, make 1 yarn over, knit 4 (marker thread sits in the middle of these 4 stitches), make 1 yarn over (= 2 stitches increased). On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. DECREASE TIP-1 (for mid under sleeve): Start 3 stitches before the marker thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread sits in the middle of these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (= 2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Neck, yoke and body are worked in the round with circular needle, top down. The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles, top down. NECK: Cast on 80-84-84-88-88-92 stitches with short circular needle size 3 mm and light grey. Knit 1 round. Then work rib in the round (= knit 2 / purl 2) for approx. 2-2-2-3-3-3 cm. Knit 1 round where you increase 4-6-6-8-8-10 stitches evenly on round – read INCREASE/DECREASE TIP = 84-90-90-96-96-102 stitches. Change to circular needle size 4 mm. You can now work an elevation in the back of the neck so that the neck is slightly higher at the back. This elevation can be left out; the neck is then the same front and back – work ELEVATION – read description above, or go straight to YOKE. YOKE: Read KNITTING TIP! Work A.1 in the round (= 28-30-30-32-32-34 repeats of 3 stitches). AT THE SAME TIME on each round marked with an arrow in A.1 increase evenly as described below. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION and INCREASE/DECREASE TIP. Arrow-1: Increase 16-14-14-12-12-10 stitches evenly on round = 100-104-104-108-108-112 stitches (make sure you increase with off white on this round). Arrow-2: Increase 14-16-16-18-18-20 stitches evenly on round = 114-120-120-126-126-132 stitches (there is now room for 19-20-20-21-21-22 repeats of 6 stitches). Arrow-3: Increase 22-24-26-28-34-36 stitches evenly on round = 136-144-146-154-160-168 stitches. Arrow-4: Increase 20-24-26-26-28-28 stitches evenly on round = 156-168-172-180-188-196 stitches (there is now room for 39-42-43-45-47-49 repeats of 4 stitches). Arrow-5: Increase 20-22-24-24-28-28 stitches evenly on round = 176-190-196-204-216-224 stitches. Arrow-6: Increase 12-14-16-16-20-20 stitches evenly on round = 188-204-212-220-236-244 stitches (there is now room for 47-51-53-55-59-61 repeats of 4 stitches). Arrow-7: Increase 8-8-8-10-10-10 stitches evenly on round = 196-212-220-230-246-254 stitches. Arrow-8: Increase 8-4-8-10-6-10 stitches evenly on round = 204-216-228-240-252-264 stitches. When A.1 has been completed, work A.2 in the round (= 17-18-19-20-21-22 repeats of 12 stitches). Continue this pattern. When A.2 has been completed, the piece measures approx. 16-16-16-17-20-20 cm from the cast-on edge mid front. Work 0-0-1-2-0-0 cm stocking stitch with light grey. The piece now measures approx. 16-16-17-19-20-20 cm from the cast-on edge mid front. The next round is worked as follows with light grey: Knit 30-32-34-36-38-40 stitches (= ½ back piece), place the next 42-44-46-48-50-52 stitches on 1 thread for sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 new stitches on the needle (= in side under sleeve), knit 60-64-68-72-76-80 stitches (= front piece), place the next 42-44-46-48-50-52 stitches on 1 thread for sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 new stitches on the needle (= in side under sleeve) and knit the remaining 30-32-34-36-38-40 stitches (= ½ back piece). Body and sleeves are finished separately. THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE! BODY: = 132-140-148-160-168-176 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in each side, in the middle of the 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches cast on under the sleeves. Allow the marker threads to follow your work onwards; they will be used a little later when increasing in the sides. Start the round by one of the marker threads and work stocking stitch in the round with light grey. When the piece measures 4-4-4-5-5-5 cm from the division, increase 1 stitch on each side of both marker threads – read INCREASE TIP-1 (= 4 stitches increased). Increase like this every 3-4-4½-5-5½-6½ cm a total of 4 times in each side = 148-156-164-176-184-192 stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 16-20-23-25-28-32 cm from the division, or to desired length. Knit 1 round where you increase 36-40-40-44-48-48 stitches evenly on round = 184-196-204-220-232-240 stitches. Change to circular needle size 3 mm. Work rib in the round (= knit 2 / purl 2) for 4 cm. Then cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl, but make sure that the cast-off edge is not tight. The jumper measures approx. 38-42-46-50-54-58 cm from the shoulder down. SLEEVE: Place the 42-44-46-48-50-52 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on double pointed needles size 4 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches cast on under the sleeves = 48-50-52-56-58-60 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in the middle of the 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches under the sleeve and allow it to follow your work onwards. The marker thread will be used a little later when decreasing under the sleeve. Start the round at the marker thread and work stocking stitch in the round with light grey. When the piece measures 2-2-2-3-3-3 cm from the division decrease 2 stitches mid under sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 3-3½-4-4-4½-5 cm a total of 6-6-6-7-7-7 times = 36-38-40-42-44-46 stitches. When the sleeve measures 18-22-26-30-34-38 cm from the division knit 1 round where you increase 0-2-0-2-0-2 stitches evenly on round = 36-40-40-44-44-48 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm. Work rib in the round (= knit 2 / purl 2) for 4 cm. Then cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl, but make sure that the cast-off edge is not tight. The sleeve measures approx. 22-26-30-34-38-42 cm from the division. Work the other sleeve in the same way. ---------------------------------------------------------- HEAD BAND: The piece is worked in the round with short circular needle, bottom up. Cast on 108-116-120 stitches with circular needle size 2.5 mm and light grey. Knit 1 round. Then work rib in the round (= knit 2 / purl 2) for 2 cm. Change to circular needle size 3 mm. Knit 1 round where you decrease 8 stitches evenly in all sizes – read INCREASE/DECREASE TIP = 100-108-112 stitches. Work A.3 in the round (= 25-27-28 repeats of 4 stitches). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When A.3 has been completed continue with light grey. Knit 1 round where you increase 8 stitches evenly on round = 108-116-120 stitches. Change to circular needle size 2.5 mm and work rib in the round (= knit 2 / purl 2) for 2 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. The head band measures approx. 9 cm from the cast-on edge to the cast-off edge. |
