Am I right in assuming that the knit & purl rows in pattern 2 have to be adjusted for the sleeves since they’re worked in the round?

Hi Ellen, The pattern M.2 on the sleeves is worked as shown, first a knitted round with charcoal, then a purled round with grey, a knitted round with natural, etc. Happy knitting!

Knitting tension: 13 stitches x 17 rows with needle size 6 mm and stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm. Remember needle size is only a guide! Pattern: See diagrams - M.1 and M.2. Pattern in diagrams is seen from the right side. Ridge/Garter stitch (back and forth on needle): Knit 2 rows. Lobster stitch: Work with hook size 5 mm and dark grey Ull-Flamé as follows: Work double crochets from the right side but in the opposite direction, i.e. from left to right. Work approx. 9 Lobster stitches every 10 cm - it is important to maintain the crochet tension for the best result. ------------------------------------------------------------ Body: The jacket is worked back and forth with circular needle from mid front. Cast on 173-185-191 stitches (incl. 2 band stitches in each side towards mid front) with circular needle size 6 mm and dark grey Ull-Flamé. Work 2 ridges, continue with M.1, but 2 edge stitches in each side towards mid front are worked in garter stitch upwards. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 41-43-44 cm, work M.2 (2 edge stitches still in garter stitch - now in grey). After M.2 work M.1 with grey to finished length. When piece measures 56-58-59 cm work next row as follows: 47-50-52 stitches front piece, cast off 6-6-6 stitches for armhole, 67-73-75 stitches back piece, cast off 6-6-6 stitches for armhole, 47-50-52 stitches front piece. Each piece is finished separately. Right front piece: = 47-50-52 stitches. Continue to decrease for armhole every 2nd row: 2 stitches x 1-1-1 and 1 stitch x 2-4-4 =43-44-46 stitches. When piece measures 78-80-82 cm, place the 26-26-27 stitches towards mid front on a thread for neck, the other 17-18-19 stitches are cast off. Left front piece: Work as for right, but in reverse. Back piece: = 67-73-75 stitches. Continue to decrease for armholes in each side as for front piece = 59-61-63 stitches. When piece measures 78-80-82 cm cast off all stitches, the middle 25-25-25 stitches = neck. Sleeve: Cast on 34-34-36 stitches with double pointed needles size 6 mm and dark grey Ull-Flamé. Work 2 ridges, continue with M.1 upwards. At the same time, when piece measures 6-6-6 cm increase mid under sleeve: 2 stitches x 9-9-9 every 4.5-4-4 cm = 52-52-54 stitches. At the same time, when piece measures 29-28-27 cm work M.2. After M.2, finish working with M.1 and grey. When piece measures 45-44-43 cm cast off 6 stitches mid under sleeve and finish working back and forth on needle. Continue to decrease for sleeve cap in each side every 2nd row: 2 stitches x 2-2-2, 1 stitch x 2-3-3, 2 stitches x 2-2-2 and 3 stitches x 1-1-1. Cast off, piece measures approx. 54-54-54 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Neck: Knit up around neck: 77-77-79 stitches (incl. stitches from threads in front) with needle size 6 mm and grey Ull-Flamé. Insert 1 marker thread on each shoulder. Work M.1 with 2 stitches garter stitch in each side towards mid front. After 1 row, increase 2 stitches on each shoulder (increase the stitches beside each other and work into pattern so that the pattern is maintained) = 81-81-83 stitches. Work 2 more rows and then increase 2 new stitches on each shoulder = 85-85-87 stitches. When collar measures 15-15-15 cm work 2 ridges before casting off. Crochet edges: Work lobster stitch inside the 1 ridge/2 edge stitches - see description above - around bottom of jacket, along bands and around bottom of sleeves. Work approx. 9 Lobster stitches every 10 cm. Button-loops: Work 4 button-loops on right band with dark grey Ull-Flamé and hook size 5 mm. Work them evenly spaced, the first one approx. 22 cm from bottom edge and the last approx. 16 cm from top of collar. One button-loop = 2 rows. Row 1: 1 double crochet, 5 chain stitches, fasten with 1 double crochet 2 cm further down. Row 2: Work 5 double crochets around chain-space. Crochet buttons: Work with hook size 3 mm and thin black yarn around the button as follows: Work 4 chain stitches, form them to a ring with 1 slip stitch. Continue as follows: Round 1: 6 double crochets in the ring, Round 2: Increase 1 double crochet in each double crochet from previous round = 12 double crochets. Round 3: Increase 1 double crochet in every other double crochet from previous round = 18 double crochets. Round 4: Increase 1 double crochet in every 3rd double crochet from previous round = 24 double crochets. Round 5: Work 1 double crochet in each double crochet from previous round = 24 double crochets. Round 6: Decrease 1 double crochet by skipping every 4th double crochet from the previous round = 18 double crochets. Round 7: Decrease 1 double crochet by skipping every 3rd double crochet from previous round = 12 double crochets. Round 8: Decrease 1 double crochet by skipping every other double crochet from previous round = 6 double crochets. Put the button in the little "hood" and pull the strand through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. Work 4 buttons like this and sew them on, 9 cm in from edge of left front piece. Scarf in Puddel. Pattern: DROPS design Size: 32 cm x 2 metres. Materials: DROPS Puddel, 64% mohair, 20% wool, 16% viscose, 50 g = approx. 50 m. 250 g colour no 01,off white. DROPS Needle size 8 mm. ------------------------------------------------------ Knitting tension: 9 stitches x 12 rows with needle size 8 mm and stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm. Ridge/Garter stitch: 1 ridge = Knit 2 rows. Scarf: Cast on 29 stitches with needle size 8 mm and double yarn Puddel, change to single yarn and work 1 ridge. Continue with stocking stitch, but 3 stitches in each side are worked in garter stitch. Remember knitting tension! When piece measures 198 cm work 1 ridge over all stitches, then cast off with double yarn. |
