When it says to sc alternately between front and back loops every other row, does that mean: 1 row front loops, 1 row back loops, etc., or: 1 row regular sc, 1 row going front loop, back loop, etc. across the row?
12.01.2015 - 08:17DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Crawley you will work alternately 1 row sc in front loop of sts, 1 row sc in back loop and repeat these 2 rows. Happy crocheting!

Hi Yolanda, you should do exactly as explained in pattern, turn the work when 1 sc remains on row, and then on next row skip the 1st sc and then continue that row, this way you will have dec 2 sc in that side of work, repeat in the other side.

I don't understand this part.now dec 2 sc each side on every row as follows; work row until 1 sc,left, turn piece. skip 1 sc,work 1 sc in next sc and work return row until 1 sc left, turn piece, skip 1 sc,1 sc in next sc* confuse with this part is flap to the purse

Crochet flower: Large flower: crochet round 1 to 5. Small flower: crochet round 1 to 3 only. See under “Flowers” below for yarn quality and crochet hook size. Crochet 4 ch and form a ring with a sl st. Round 1: 1 ch, 6 dc in ring. Round 2: * 1 dc in dc, 3 ch*, repeat from *-* a total of 6 times and finish with 1 sl st in first dc from beg of round = 6 ch-loops. Round 3: 1 ch, and crochet as follows in each ch-loop: 1 dc,1 ch, 3 tr, 1 ch, 1 dc. Finish small flower here. Round 4: Turn piece, * 1 dc in dc from Round 1, 5 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 6 times and finish with 1 sl st in first dc from beg of round = 6 ch-loops. Round 5: 1 ch, and crochet as follows in each ch-loop: 1 dc,1 ch, 5 tr, 1 ch, 1 dc. Finish large flower here. Leaf: Crochet 12 ch. Round 1: Crochet as follows along one side of ch string: 1 sl st in second ch from hook, 1 sl st in next ch, 1 htr in the next 2 ch, 1 tr in the next 3 ch, 1 htr in the next 2 ch and 1 sl st in the last 2 ch. Work 1 ch and crochet a similar row along the other side of ch string. Round 2: Crochet 1 sl st in each st round the whole leaf – crochet in the back loops of sts – beg round with 2 ch and also work 2 ch in transition between the 2 sides of leaf. Finish with 4 ch for stalk and cut the thread. Bag: Loosely crochet 49 ch with crochet hook size 4 mm with 1 thread of each quality (= 3 threads). Work 1 dc in second ch from hook and now 1 dc in each of the remaining 47 ch = 48 dc. Finish row with 1 ch to turn with. Continue back and forth with 1 dc in each dc and 1 ch to turn with until piece measures 38 cm. NOTE! Work dc in front and back loops alternately on every other row. Now dec 2 dc each side on every row as follows: work row until 1 dc left, turn piece, skip 1 dc, work 1 dc in next dc and work return row until 1 dc left, turn piece, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc*. Repeat from *-* until there are 24 dc left on row (= 12 dc dec each side), cut the thread. Shoulder strap: Crochet 7 ch with crochet hook size 3 mm and 2 threads Cotton Viscose + 1 thread Glitter. Work 1 dc in second ch from hook and 1 dc in each of the remaining 5 ch = 6 dc. Finish row with 1 ch to turn with. Work 1 dc in each dc and finish each row with 1 ch until strap measures approx 85 cm. Cut the thread. Flowers (see explanation above): Crochet 3 large flowers and 3 leafs with 1 thread Muskat on crochet hook size 3 mm. Crochet 5 small flowers with 1 thread Cotton Viscose +1 thread Glitter on crochet hook size 2.5 mm. Assembly: Fold the bag as follows: 15 cm front, 3 cm bottom, 15 cm back, the rest is the flap. Sew shoulder strap to each side of bag – sew with 1 thread Muskat and sew with small sts in the outermost loops to avoid a chunky seam. Sew leafs to back of large flowers and sew all flowers to flap – see picture. Crochet with 1 thread Cotton Viscose on crochet hook size 2.5 mm between the flowers as follows: Beg by 1 flower, put hook through the outer edge and through flap, pick up yarn and crochet 1 dc, then crochet ch to next flower or leaf and do the same. Crochet between the flowers randomly, look at the picture and use your imagination! |
