Hi - back piece for 104 stitches states 'work 11 rows then inc 3 stitches for armholes'. Is this correct? 11 rows is not even 6 inches in length! What have I misunderstood?
02.01.2017 - 10:17DROPS Design answered:
Dear Ginny, it's correct, you only work 11 rows in 2nd size before casting on the 3 sts for armhole. Happy knitting!

Love pattern but have a problem with pleat pattern indicates for back to work first row of pearl grey on right side then do the short row on wrong side if I do that the pleat ends up towards the top of the jacket not the bottom what am I doing wrong. Thanks for your help.
31.10.2016 - 18:14DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Pod, first row with pearl grey is worked from RS then work the pleat: 1st row = from WS. So that the pleat will be at the bottom of the jacket and not at the top. Happy knitting!

On next row (from RS) cast off 3 sts at beg of row and dec at the beg of every 6 row: 3 sts 0-0-1-2-4-5 times = 102-104-106-109-111-113 sts. Continue until piece measures 6-7-8-9-12-14 cm from the last pleat. Cast off loosely. Sleeve: Knitted back and forth on pointed needles in garter st. At the same time when piece measures 18 cm work 2 cm in pearl grey Cotton Viscose and now complete sleeve in light grey Alpaca. When piece measures 48-48-47-47-45-44 cm (less on the larger sizes because of larger sleeve cap) cast off 3 sts each side for armhole and dec to shape the sleeve cap each side on every other row: 2 sts 2-2-2-2-1-0 times and 1 st 10-12-14-15-24-28 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 54-55-55-56-56-57 cm, dec 3 sts 1 time each side and cast off. Sleeve measures approx 55-56-56-57-57-58 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams and set in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams inside 1 edge st. Crochet border: Crochet a border on crochet hook size 3 mm with white Alpaca round the front opening. Beg at the bottom of right front piece, work round the neck and down along left front piece as follows: 1 dc in first st, *2 ch, skip approx 1 cm, 1 dc*, repeat from *-*. Assembly: Sew on buttons 1 cm from edge on left front piece. Place the top button approx 1 cm from neckline and the remaining buttons with approx 4 cm between each. Use crochet border on right front piece as buttonholes. |
