Would love to knit this but trying to work out the yarn required. My maths says 2 lots of 2 ply yarn = 4 which is fingering or sport at most. But here it says group c. Happy with fingering and sports just a little afraid the amounts of yarn required is not correct. 250 grams will be enough for a medium knit?

Dear Mrs Rynenberg, use our yarn converter to see all possible alternatives with 2 strands yarn group A or 1 strand yarn group C - and always make first a swatch to take your tension - read more here; for any further individual assistance choosing the best matching yarn, please contact your DROPS store, even per E-Mail.

Hej, for at få 17 masker på 10 cm i glatstrik med 2 tråde Kid-Silk skal du bruge pind nr 5, hvis du får for mange masker på 10 cm så prøv med ½ nummer tykkere pind. God fornøjelse!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RAGLAN: Increase 2 stitches by each raglan-line as follows: Work to the raglan-line, make 1 yarn over, knit 1 (= raglan-line), 1 yarn over. Increase like this at each raglan-line (= 8 stitches increased). On the next round work the yarn overs as follows: BEFORE RAGLAN-LINE: Slip the yarn over onto the right needle as if to knit, place it back onto the left needle (it is now twisted) and knit in the front loop (yarn over twists to the right). AFTER RAGLAN-LINE: Knit in the back loop of the yarn over (yarn over twists to the left). DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on either side of the marker as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The neck, yoke and body are worked in the round with circular needle, from mid-back and top down. The sleeves are worked in the round with short circular needle/double pointed needles. NECK: Cast on 88-92-96-100-104-108 stitches with short circular needle size 3.5 mm and 2 strands DROPS Kid-Silk. Knit 1 round, then work rib in the round (knit 1 twisted, purl 1) for 4 cm. YOKE: Insert 1 marker at the beginning of the round (mid-back); the yoke is measured from this marker. Increase 1 stitch in all the purled sections by making 1 yarn over; on the next round purl the yarn overs twisted = 132-138-144-150-156-162 stitches. Continue the new rib (knit 1 twisted, purl 2) for 3 cm (7 cm of rib). Change to short circular needle size 5 mm. Work as follows – from mid-back: Knit 21-24-27-30-33-36 decreasing 3 stitches evenly (half back piece), make 1 yarn over, knit 1 (raglan-line), 1 yarn over, knit 23 decreasing 3 stitches evenly (sleeve), 1 yarn over, knit 1 (raglan-line), 1 yarn over, knit 41-44-47-50-53-56 decreasing 3 stitches evenly (front piece), 1 yarn over, knit 1 (raglan-line), 1 yarn over, knit 23 decreasing 3 stitches evenly (sleeve), 1 yarn over, knit 1 (raglan-line), 1 yarn over, knit 20 (half back piece) = 128-134-140-146-152-158 stitches. The first increase to RAGLAN – read description above, is now finished. Continue with stocking stitch and increase to raglan in each transition between body and sleeves every 2nd round a total of 14-16-19-20-24-26 times – REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! After the last increase there are 232-254-284-298-336-358 stitches. Continue working without further increases until the piece measures 19-21-23-25-27-29 cm from the marker. Now work the next round as follows: Knit 33-38-44-48-55-60 (half back piece), place the next 48-52-58-60-68-72 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-10 stitches (in side under sleeve), knit 68-75-84-89-100-107 (front piece), place the next 48-52-58-60-68-72 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-10 stitches (in side under sleeve), knit 35-37-40-41-45-47 (half back piece). THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE! BODY: = 148-162-180-194-216-234 stitches. Continue in the round for 21 cm. There is approx. 6 cm left to finished length. Knit 1 round where you increase 28-32-36-38-44-46 stitches evenly spaced = 176-194-216-232-260-280 stitches. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm and work rib (knit 1, purl 1) for 6 cm. Cast off. The jumper measures approx. 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm from the shoulder down. SLEEVES: Place the 48-52-58-60-68-72 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on short circular needle/double pointed needles size 5 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-6-8-8-10 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 54-58-64-68-76-82 stitches. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the new stitches under the sleeve and start the round here. Work stocking stitch in the round. When the sleeve measures 3 cm from the division, decrease 2 stitches on each side of the marker – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 10-5-2-2-1½-1 cm a total of 2-3-4-5-7-8 times = 50-52-56-58-62-66 stitches. Work until the sleeve measures 17-17-16-16-15-15 cm. Knit 1 round where you increase 8 stitches evenly spaced = 58-60-64-66-70-74 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1) for 6 cm, then cast off. The sleeve measures approx. 23-23-22-22-21-21 cm. Work the other sleeve in the same way. |
