Bon tricot!

INFORMATION FOR PATTERN: GARTER STITCH (back and forth): 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.8. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. ---------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL: The shawl is worked back and forth on circular needles and top down. Knit all rows. Cast on 5 stitches with 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk and 1 strand Kid-Silk (= 2 strands) on circular needle size 5 mm. Work diagram A.1 over 2 stitches, 1 stitch in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above (= middle stitch) and A.2 over 2 stitches. When diagrams A.1 and A.2 have been worked 1 time vertically, there are 21 stitches on row. Work according to diagrams A.3 to A.6 as follows: Work A.3 over 1 stitch, A.4 over 9 stitches, 1 stitch in garter stitch (= middle stitch), A.5 over 9 stitches and A.6 over 1 stitch. When diagrams A.3 to A.6 have been worked 1 time vertically, there are 101 stitches on needle. Work according to diagrams A.3 to A.8 as follows: Work diagram A.3 over 1 stitch, repeat A.7 until 9 stitches remain before middle stitch (= 4 times in width), A.4 over 9 stitch, 1 stitch in garter stitch (= middle stitch), A.5 over 9 stitches, repeat A.8 until 1 stitch remains (= 4 times in width) and A.6 over 1 stitch. Continue to work according to diagrams like this, for every time diagrams are worked vertically, work 4 repetitions more of diagram A.7/A.8 on each side of shawl. Work like this until piece measures approx. 36 cm in knitting direction (approx. 51 cm along middle stitch, adjust so that diagram is finished at one of the rows marked with arrow in diagram A.3). Work 3 rows in garter stitch over all stitches. Now work flounce. FLOUNCE: Cut and fasten the yarn with BabyAlpaca Silk. Use 2 strands Kid-Silk and knit 1 row from right side. Remove one of the strands, now work the rest of flounce with 1 strand. On next row (= wrong side) increase and purl. Increase by working each of the 2 strands from every stitch separately, i.e. 1 stitch with 2 strands becomes 2 stitches with 1 strand. On next row (= right side) work as follows: * knit 1, 1 yarn over *, repeat from *-* and finish with knit 1. Purl 1 row from wrong side and knit 1 row from right side. Cast off on next row by knitting from wrong side as follows to avoid a tight edge: * Cast off 1 stitch, make 1 yarn over, cast off yarn over as regular stitch *, repeat from *-* until all stitches have been cast off. Fasten off. |
