Hi, I am having trouble understanding how to do the Heel Piece on your Granny Rose Drops Design. Kind Regards Penny

Dear Mrs Webber, after you have worked back and forth and slipper measures 22-24-27 cm (see size), cut the yarn, fold the last row in the middle and sew tog sts from last row. See also this video showing another pattern of slippers but on time code 1:13 you will see how to sew heel tog. Happy crocheting!

I know how to decrease stitches but not sure how you do this evenly over the next 6 rounds??
28.07.2014 - 04:21DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs McClure, divide the number of sts by 6, ie in 2nd size eg you have 38 sts for toe divided by 6 you get 6.33. To make dec in every 6th st you will work as follows: 4 st, dec, 4 st, dec, and continue around and finish with 2 st. Happy crocheting!

Hi, love the pattern. But,I am having some trouble understanding how to do the toe portion...don't understand the decreases. Am I decreasing 1 sc six times spread out in each of the five rounds, or picking up the 6 sc at a time to do on decrease? Thanks for your help.
07.01.2014 - 16:52DROPS Design answered:
Dear Yira, you dec for the toe 6 sts evenly on each of the next 5 rounds, 6-8-10 sts remain after all dec. Happy crocheting!

This pattern says it is for different sizes, but the pattern doesn't indicate what changes should be made to achieve the different sizes.
06.01.2014 - 07:26DROPS Design answered:
Dear Vicky, the start of the slippers is the same for all sizes (granny square), you will then see different numbers for each side from under piece/sole to toe/heel piece. Happy crocheting!

Cut and fasten the threads. UNDER PIECE: Work with dark old pink: 1 dc in the corner, then 1 dc in every tr and 1 dc in every ch along the one side of the square, finish with 1 dc in the corner = 17 dc. Then work dc in STRIPES – see explanation above – back and forth over these sts for 5-6-7 cm (turn every row with 1 ch). Cut and fasten the threads. Repeat in the opposite side of crochet square. Then sew these part tog mid under foot - sew in front loop of last row with dc to avoid a chunky seam mid under foot. Then work 5 rounds while dec 6 sts evenly on every round - READ DECREASE TIP = 6-8-10 dc. Cut the thread, baste it up and down around the tip, pull the thread to tighten and fasten tightly. HEEL PIECE: Work with dark old pink: First 1 dc in each of the outermost 3 tr along the last side of square, and 1 dc in ch-loop in the corner, then crochet up 20-22-24 dc along the stripes on the under side of foot, then work 1 dc in the corner on the square and 1 dc in each of the first 3 tr = 28-30-32 dc. Work STRIPES and dc back and forth - AT THE SAME TIME on 3rd row inc 1 dc at the end of row by working 2 dc in last dc. Repeat inc at the end of every row a total of 6 times (i.e. 3 times in each side) = 34-36-38 dc. Continue with dc until the entire slipper measures approx. 22-24-27 cm. Cut the thread, fold the slipper double and sew tog edge to edge mid back on heel. Then finish by working 1 round dc with dark old pink around the opening on the slipper. |
