Hi Diane, thank you, that sounds better, we have edited the pattern. THe measure chart is at the very end of the pattern. All measures are in cm, measured from side to side on piece.

I'm currently working this little vest, and I'd like to offer a small correction to the US english instructions. In the third line of "FRONT AND BACK PIECE", after (= armhole), the directions say to "slip". It should say "knit". Otherwise, the concept doesn't work. Also, where do I find the measurements that correspond to the various sizes? I've looked everywhere! Thanks, Diane

Cast on 20-22-24-26-26-28 sts on circular needle size 15 mm with Polaris. Insert a marker in the middle (= mid back at neckline) = 10-11-12-13-13-14 sts each side of marker. Work MOSS ST - see above. When piece measures 19-20-20-22-22-23 cm slip sts on a stitch holder. FRONT AND BACK PIECE: Beg by marker at the top of back piece. Knit up 6-7-8-8-9-9 sts evenly along the cast on row (i.e. skip sts on back piece at regular intervals so that neckline doesn’t become too large) from marker towards the side (knit up sts in the outer loops of sts). Then cast on 15-16-16-17-17-18 new sts (= armhole), knit the 20-22-24-26-26-28 sts from stitch holder at bottom of back piece back on needle, cast on 15-16-16-17-17-18 new sts (= armhole) and knit up 6-7-8-8-9-9 sts evenly along back piece from the side back to the marker = 62-68-72-76-78-82 sts on needle. Continue in Moss st back and forth from mid back at neckline. When piece measures 9-10-11-11-13-13 cm from marker mid back cast off 14-14-15-16-16-17 sts at the beg of the next 2 rows = 34-40-42-44-46-48 sts on needle - NOTE! Cast off sts in Moss st. Insert a new marker, and now measure piece from here. Continue in Moss st until piece measures approx 7-6-6-6-5-5 cm from the new marker and work next row from RS as follows: Work 10-12-12-13-13-13 sts, and slip these sts on a stitch holder. Cast off the next 14-16-18-18-20-22 sts and work remaining 10-12-12-13-13-13 sts. Turn piece. Size S +M +L: work 10-12-12. Turn piece, cast off 5-6-6 sts and work the remaining 5-6-6 sts on row. Turn piece, work 5-6-6 sts. Turn piece, cast off 5-6-6 sts. Size XL + XXL + XXXL: work 13-13-13 sts. Turn piece, cast off 3 sts and work the remaining 10 sts. Turn piece, work 10 sts. Turn piece, cast off 2 sts and work the remaining 8 sts. Turn piece, work 8 sts. Turn piece, cast off 2 sts and work the remaining 6 sts, continue casting off the first 2 sts at side until all sts are cast off. Slip sts from stitch holder on the opposite side back on needle and work these in the same way, but mirrored. Remember BUTTONHOLE on front band - see above. ASSEMBLY: Sew tog mid back at neckline, edge to edge in outer loops of sts. Sew on button. CROCHET BORDER: Crochet a border along the opening with crochet hook size 12 mm and Polaris as follows: 1 dc, * 1 ch, skip approx 2.5-3 cm, 1 dc in next st *, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in first dc from beg of round. |
