---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. A.1 is always counted as 9 stitches. RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over. On next round work yarn overs as explained below: BEFORE A.1: Slip stitch off left needle and put it back on left needle but the opposite way (insert left needle in from behind when slipping it back on needle). Knit yarn overs in front loop of stitches to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. AFTER A.1: Knit yarn overs in back loop of stitches to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. SLEEVE TIP: When picking up stitches mid under sleeve, there will be a small hole in the transition between stitches on body and sleeves. The holes can be closed by picking up the strand between two stitches - work this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve to close the hole. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 2 stitches decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: In this pattern needles of different length have been used, begin with fitting length for number of stitches and switch as needed. Work neck edge and yoke in the round on circular needle from right shoulder back, and work top down. When yoke is done, divide piece for body and sleeves. Work body downwards in the round on circular needle while putting the sleeves aside. Then work sleeves downwards in the round on needle. If 0 is given for the chosen size, it means that you skip the information until next information. NECK EDGE: Cast on 132-136-140-144-152-160-168 stitches on circular needle size 3 mm with DROPS Baby Merino. Work 3 rounds in stocking stitch (= rolling edge). Work 3 rounds rib (= purl 1/knit 1). Work next round as follows: Work stocking stitch over the first 25 stitches – NB! 1st and last of these stitches are 1 purl (= sleeve), work A.1, work 23-25-27-29-33-37-41 stitches in stocking stitch, work A.1 (= 41-43-45-47-51-55-59 stitches for front piece), work in stocking stitch over the next 25 stitches (= sleeve), work A.1, work 23-25-27-29-33-37-41 stitches in stocking stitch, work A.1 (= 41-43-45-47-51-55-59 stitches for back piece). Work A.1 and stocking stitch like this for 4 cm - adjust so that last round is last round in A.1. Beginning of round is at right shoulder at the back. Insert 1 marker after the first 45-46-47-48-50-52-54 stitches on round (= approx. mid front), measure piece from this marker. YOKE: Insert 8 markers in piece without working the stitches, insert markers on each side of A.1 (= 9 stitches), these 9 stitches are called raglan stitches and increase is done for raglan on each side of raglan stitches. Insert 1st marker at the beginning of round, count 25 stitches (= sleeve), Insert 2nd marker before next stitch, count 9 stitches (= raglan stitches / A.1), insert 3rd marker in next stitch, count 23-25-27-29-33-37-41 stitches (= front piece), insert 4th marker before next stitch, count 9 stitches (= raglan stitches / A.1), insert 5th marker in next stitch, count 25 stitches (= sleeve), insert 6th marker before next stitch, count 9 stitches (= raglan stitches / A.1), insert 7th marker in next stitch, count 23-25-27-29-33-37-41 stitches (= back piece), insert 8th marker in next stitch, 9 stitches remain after last marker (= raglan stitches / A.1). Work in stocking stitch and pattern in the round and increase for RAGLAN on each side of raglan stitches - read explanation above for increase method. ROUND 1: Work stocking stitch and A.1 as before and increase for raglan on each side of raglan stitches (= 8 stitches increased). NOTE! At the beginning of round increase after A.1 and at the end of round increase before A.1. ROUND 2: Work in stocking stitch and A.1 as before. Work 1st and 2nd ROUND 17-20-28-32-34-33-32 times (= 34-40-56-64-68-66-64 rounds worked) = 268-296-364-400-424-424-424 stitches on needle. Remember to follow the knitting tension! Then work and increase as follows: ROUND 1: Work in stocking stitch and A.1 as before and increase for raglan on each side of raglan stitches (= 8 stitches increased). ROUND 2: Work in stocking stitch and A.1 as before. ROUND 3: Work stocking stitch and A.1 as before and increase for raglan on front piece and back piece, i.e. increase after 3rd and 7th marker and before 4th and 8th marker - do no increase stitches on sleeves (= 4 stitches increased). ROUND 4: Work in stocking stitch and A.1 as before. Work 1st to 4th ROUND 9-9-6-5-5-7-9 times (= 36-36-24-20-20-28-36 rounds worked = 9-9-6-5-5-7-9 increases in height on sleeves and 18-18-12-10-10-14-18 increases in height on front piece/back piece) = 376-404-436-460-484-508-532 stitches on needle. All increases for raglan are now done, 35-38-40-42-44-47-50 increases in height have been done in total on front piece/back piece and 26-29-34-37-39-40-41 increases in height on sleeves. Work in stocking stitch and A.1 as before, without increasing, until piece measures approx. 21-22-24-25-26-28-30 cm from marker mid front. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. DIVIDING FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: When the piece is divided for body and sleeves, A.1 is place somewhat in on front piece/back piece. AT THE SAME TIME as next round is worked divide yoke for body and sleeves as follows: Knit 1-1-2-3-4-4-4 stitches (= belong to back piece), slip the next 75-81-89-93-95-97-99 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 10-12-14-16-20-22-26 new stitches on needle (= in the side mid under sleeve), work 113-121-129-137-147-157-167 stitches in stocking stitch and A.1 as before (= front piece), slip the next 75-81-89-93-95-97-99 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 10-12-14-16-20-22-26 new stitches on needle (= in the side mid under sleeve) and work the last 112-120-127-134-143-153-163 stitches in stocking stitch and A.1 as before (= back piece). Finish body and sleeves separately. BODY: = 246-266-286-306-334-358-386 stitches. Insert 1 marker in one side of piece (= in the middle of the 10-12-14-16-20-22-26 stitches that were cast on under sleeve). Work until marker as before, round begins here and work in the round. Work in stocking stitch and A.1 as before until piece measures 46-48-50-52-54-56-58 cm from marker mid front. Work 3 rounds rib (= knit 1/purl 1). Knit 3 rounds (= rolling edge), loosely cast off by knitting. Jumper measures 47-49-51-53-55-57-59 cm from marker mid front and approx. 52-54-56-58-60-62-64 cm from the top of shoulder. SLEEVES: Slip 75-81-89-93-95-97-99 sleeve stitches from one thread on to circular needle size 3 mm and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 10-12-14-16-20-22-26 stitches cast on under sleeve - read SLEEVE TIP = 85-93-103-109-115-119-125 stitches. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the 10-12-14-16-20-22-26 new stitches under sleeve - round begins at the marker thread. Work in stocking stitch in the round on needle - AT THE SAME TIME when sleeve measures 2-3-3-2-4-4 cm from division, decrease mid under sleeve – read DECREASE TIP and decrease as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 3½-2½-2-2-2-1½-1½ cm 11-14-17-17-18-18-18 times in total = 63-65-69-75-79-83-89 stitches. Work until sleeve measures 40-41-39-39-38-36-35 cm from division. Switch rib for 3 rounds (= knit 1/purl 1) while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 1 stitch evenly on 1st round = 64-66-70-76-80-84-90 stitches. Knit 3 rounds (= rolling edge), loosely cast off by knitting. Sleeve measures approx. 41-42-40-40-39-37-36 cm from division. |
