Pozdrawiamy!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. INCREASE TIP-1 (evenly spaced): To work out how to increase evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g., 96 stitches) and divide by the number of increases to be made (e.g., 14) = 6.8. In this example, increase by making 1 yarn-over after approx. each 7th stitch. On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. INCREASE TIP-2 (for sides of body): Increase 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there is 1 stitch left before the marker thread, make 1 yarn over, knit 2 (marker thread sits between these 2 stitches) make 1 yarn over (2 increased stitches). On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, from mid back and top down. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked in the round, top down. NECK: Cast on 96-100-104-108-112-120 stitches with circular needle size 3 mm and DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk. Work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 4 cm. Insert 1 marker mid-back; the yoke is measured from here. YOKE: Change to circular needle size 4.5 mm. Continue with stocking stitch, at the same time increase 15-13-13-15-15-13 stitches evenly on the first round - read INCREASE TIP-1 = 111-113-117-123-127-133 stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the yoke measures 2-2-3-3-3-3 cm from the marker, increase 57-63-67-77-81-91 stitches evenly spaced- remember INCREASE TIP-1 = 168-176-184-200-208-224 stitches. Knit 1 round. Now work PATTERN in the round – read description above, working A.1, 21-22-23-25-26-28 times on the round. When A.1 is finished, continue with stocking stitch. When the yoke measures 7-7-8-9-9-9 cm from the marker, increase 56-64-64-80-88-96 stitches evenly spaced – remember INCREASE TIP-1 = 224-240-248-280-296-320 stitches. Knit 1 round. Work A.1, 28-30-31-35-37-40 times on the round. When A.1 is finished, continue with stocking stitch. When the yoke measures 14-14-15-16-16-16 cm from the marker, increase 24-32-40-40-48-48 stitches evenly spaced – remember INCREASE TIP-1 = 248-272-288-320-344-368 stitches. Knit 1 round Work A.1, 31-34-36-40-43-46 times on the round. When A.1 is finished, continue with stocking stitch. When the yoke measures 21-22-22-23-25-27 cm from the marker, divide for the body and sleeves as follows: DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: Knit 35-39-41-45-50-55 (half back piece), place the next 54-58-62-70-72-74 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-10-12-12 stitches (in side under sleeve), knit 70-78-82-90-100-110 (front piece), place the next 54-58-62-70-72-74 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-10-12-12 stitches (in side under sleeve), knit the last 35-39-41-45-50-55 stitches (half back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. The piece is now measured from here! BODY: = 156-172-184-200-224-244 stitches. Insert 1 marker-thread in the middle of the 8-8-10-10-12-12 cast-on stitches under each sleeve. Allow them to follow your work onwards; they are used when increasing each side. Continue in the round with stocking stitch. When the body measures 3 cm from the division, increase 1 stitch on each side of both marker-threads – read INCREASE TIP-2. Increase like this every 5-5-5½-5½-5½-5½ cm a total of 4 times = 172-188-200-216-240-260 stitches. Continue working until the body measures 20-21-23-23-23-23 cm. Knit 1 round and increase 28-32-36-36-36-40 stitches evenly spaced – remember INCREASE TIP-1 = 200-220-236-252-276-304 stitches. Change to circular needle size 3 mm. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 4 cm. Cast off. The jumper measures approx. 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm from the shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 54-58-62-70-72-74 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on short circular needle/double pointed needles size 4.5 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 8-8-10-10-12-12 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 62-66-72-80-84-86 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 8-8-10-10-12-12 stitches under the sleeve. This is used when decreasing under the sleeve. Start at the marker-thread and work stocking stitch in the round. When the sleeve measures 3 cm from the division, decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 3-3-3-3-4½-7 cm a total of 4-4-4-4-2-2 times = 54-58-64-72-80-82 stitches. When the sleeve measures 16-15-16-16-15-12 cm from the division (with 4 cm left), knit 1 round and increase 10-10-12-12-12-14 stitches evenly spaced = 64-68-76-84-92-96 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 4 cm. Cast off. The sleeve measures approx. 20-19-20-20-19-16 cm from the division. |
