22.08.2024 - 10:31DROPS Design answered:

26.07.2024 - 14:13DROPS Design answered:
Liebe Asta, Sie stricken A.2A nur 1x, dann wiederholen Sie A.2B.

Liebe Frau Walter, was meinen Sie hier? Mit welcher Reihe in A.2A/A.2B haben Sie Probleme?

Bon tricot!

Hello, the stated knitting tension is "17 stitches in width and 22 rows vertically in stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm" but the needle size is not specified. I guess we should use the 5mm needles for the gauge, but could you confirm? Thanks!
22.02.2023 - 13:08DROPS Design answered:
Dear AA, tension should be worked with larger needle, ie with needle size 5 mm. Happy knitting!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.4. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. KNITTING TIP-1: To make pattern A.3 fit work as follows: SIZE XS, M and XL: Decrease 1 stitch inside 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on next to last row in pattern A.2/A.4 before starting pattern A.3. SIZE S, L and XXL: Increase 1 stitch inside 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on next to last row in pattern A.2/A.4 before starting pattern A.3. KNITTING TIP-2: To make the pattern fit work as follows: SIZE XS, M and XL: Increase 1 stitch inside 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on first row in pattern A.2/A.4 after pattern A.3. SIZE S, L and XXL: Decrease 1 stitch inside 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on first row in pattern A.2/A.4 after pattern A.3. DECREASE TIP (applies to mid under sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work back piece and front piece bottom up back and forth on circular needle separately. Sew the piece together as explained in pattern. Pick up stitches around each armhole. First work the sleeves back and forth on circular needle and then in the round on double pointed needles / short circular needle. Finish with a neck edge in the round. BACK PIECE: Cast on 104-108-116-124-132-140 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with DROPS Paris. Purl 1 row from wrong side. Work next row from right side as follows: 1 stitch in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above - * knit 2, purl 2 *, repeat from *-* until 3 stitches remain, knit 2, 1 stitch in garter stitch. Continue rib like this for 6 cm. Knit 1 row from right side while decreasing 17-15-17-19-21-23 stitches evenly = 87-93-99-105-111-117 stitches. Switch to circular needle size 5 mm. Work in stocking stitch with 1 stitch in garter stitch in each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 8-7-7-8-8-8 cm, work next row from the right side as follows: 1 stitch in garter stitch, A.1A, work A.1B until 1 stitch remains, finish with 1 stitch in garter stitch. When A.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, work A.2 as follows: 1 stitch in garter stitch, A.2.A, A.2B until 1 stitch remains, finish with 1 stitch in garter stitch. Continue the pattern like this - read KNITTING TIP-1 = 86-94-98-106-110-118 stitches. When A.2 has been worked vertically, work A.3 with 1 stitch in garter stitch in each side until piece measures approx. 24-24-25-26-27-28 cm (finish after a row from wrong side). Now work A.2 one more time the same way – read KNITTING TIP-2 = 87-93-99-105-111-117 stitches. Then work A.3 with 1 stitch in garter stitch in each side - remember KNITTING TIP-1. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 37-37-38-39-40-41 cm, cast off 3-3-6-3-6-9 stitches for armholes at the beginning of the next 2 rows = 81-87-87-99-99-99 stitches. Continue A.3 until piece measures approx. 38-39-41-42-44-46 cm from cast-on edge. Work next row from right side as follows: 1 stitch in garter stitch, A.4A over the next 4-1-1-1-1-1 stitch, work A.4B until 4-1-1-1-1-1 stitch remains, A.4A over the next 3-0-0-0-0-0 stitches and finish with 1 stitch in garter stitch - remember KNITTING TIP-1 = 80-88-86-100-98-100 stitches. When A.4 has been worked vertically, work A.3 with 1 stitch in garter stitch in each side until finished measurements. At the same time when piece measures 53-54-56-58-60-62 cm, slip the middle 20-20-20-22-22-22 stitches on a thread for neck and finish each shoulder separately. On next row from the neck cast off 3 stitches = 27-31-30-36-35-36 stitches remain on shoulder. Work until piece measures 55-56-58-60-62-64 cm from the cast-on edge. Cast off somewhat loosely by knitting from the right side. Work the other shoulder the same way. FRONT PIECE: Cast on the same number of stitches as back piece, and work the same way as back piece until piece measures 48-49-51-52-54-56 cm = 80-88-86-100-98-100 stitches. Now slip the middle 10-10-10-12-12-12 stitches on a thread for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Cast off for neck at the beginning of every row from neck as follows: Cast off 3 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 2 times and 1 stitch 1 time = 27-31-30-36-35-36 stitches remain on shoulder. Then work each shoulder as on back piece until piece measures 55-56-58-60-62-64 cm from cast- each shoulder edge. Cast off somewhat loosely by knitting from the right side. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. SLEEVES: Use circular needle size 5 mm and pick up from right side 61-65-68-71-75-78 stitches inside 1 stitch in garter stitch along the armhole. Insert 1 marker in the middle of row, measure sleeve from here. Work in stocking stitch back and forth until sleeve measures 2-2-3½-2-4-5 cm from marker. Now put piece together on a short circular needle or double pointed needles size 5 mm - work the rest of sleeve in the round. Insert 1 marker thread at beginning of round. Move marker thread upwards when working. Begin round at the marker thread and work in stocking stitch. When sleeve measures 6-6-8-6-8-8 cm from marker mid on top of sleeve, decrease 2 stitches mid under sleeve - read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 4-3½-3-3-2½-2½ cm 8-9-10-11-12-13 times in total = 45-47-48-49-51-52 stitches. Work until sleeve measures 39-39-40-38-39-40 cm from marker. Knit 1 round while increasing 7-9-8-11-13-12 stitches evenly = 52-56-56-60-64-64 stitches. Switch to double pointed needles size 4 mm. Work rib (knit 2/purl 2) for 8 cm. Loosely cast off. Sleeve measures approx. 47-47-48-46-47-48 cm from marker. Work the other sleeve the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew bottom of armholes - see chart. Sew side seams inside 1 edge stitch – begin at decrease for armhole and sew down to rib to create vents in the sides. NECK EDGE: Pick up from right side approx. 64 to 68 stitches around the neck (including stitches on threads) on a short circular needle size 4 mm with DROPS Paris. Number of stitches must be divisible 4. Work rib in the round = knit 2/purl 2 for 6 cm. Loosely cast off. |
