08.05.2022 - 20:56DROPS Design answered:
Hei Eva. Ja, det kan du. Bare pass på at strikkefastheten stemmer. DROPS Merino Extra Fine har en løpelengde på 105 meter, mens DROPS Sky har 190 meter, så du trenger mer DROPS Merino Extra Fine. Bruk vår Garnkalkulator for å finne ut hvor mye. mvh DROPS Design

I have difficulties in understanding the short rows description *work 6 rows over all stitches & 2rows only over A2/A3*. Please help me. Thank you very much.
30.04.2022 - 02:33DROPS Design answered:
Dear Catherine, when working left front piece and starting from RS, work all stitches starting from the side (1 edge st and A.1, and ending A.2), turn and work the next row from WS (with A.2, A.1 and 1 edge st in garter st), repeat these 2 rows 3 more times (= 6 rows in total), then work the next row from RS as before, turn and work the next row in A.2 from WS, turn, work the next row from RS, turn and work all the stitches on the row again (A.2, A.1 and 1 edge st in garter st). Continue like this, continuing A.2 from the last row worked. Happy knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge = knit 2 rows PATTERN: See diagrams A.1, A.2 and A.3. The diagrams show all rows in the pattern from the right side. BUTTONHOLES: Work the buttonholes on the right side. 1 BUTTONHOLE = knit together the 3rd and 4th stitch from the edge and make 1 yarn over. On the next row knit the yarn over to leave a hole. Work the buttonholes when the piece measures: S: 5, 15 and 25 cm M: 5, 15 and 26 cm L: 6, 16 and 27 cm XL: 5, 13, 21 and 28 cm XXL: 5, 13, 21 and 29 cm XXXL: 6, 14, 22 and 30 cm. DECREASE TIP FOR V-NECK: Decrease inside A.2 and A.3. All decreases are worked from the right side. Decreasing before A.2: Knit 2 together, Decreasing after A.3: Slip 1 stitch, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over. SHORT ROWS: So the flounce-edge lies neatly, short rows are worked along the V-neck as follows: * Work 6 rows over all stitches on the front piece, work 2 rows only over A.2 / A.3 *, repeat from *-*. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JACKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked bottom up, back and forth in sections, then sewn together. The front pieces are worked with a V-neck and flounce-edges. Sleeves are worked back and forth on needle. BACK PIECE: Cast on 102-114-120-132-144-159 stitches with circular needle size 3 mm and DROPS Sky. Purl 1 row from the wrong side, then work as follows from the right side: 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH – see description above, * knit 1 twisted, purl 2 *, work from *-* until there are 2 stitches left, knit 1 twisted and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this rib for 4 cm. Knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 10-10-10-10-10-13 stitches evenly spaced = 92-104-110-122-134-146 stitches. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and purl 1 row from the wrong side. Work A.1, with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 30-31-32-33-34-35 cm, cast off for the armholes at the beginning of each row as follows: 4 stitches 0-0-0-1-1-1 time on each side, 3 stitches 1-1-1-1-2-2 times, 2 stitches 1-3-4-4-5-7 times and 1 stitch 3-4-4-5-5-6 times on each side = 76-78-80-82-84-86 stitches. Continue A.1 – the stitches on each side which do not fit into the pattern are worked in stocking stitch. When the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56-58 cm, cast off the middle 22-22-24-24-26-28 stitches for the neck and finish each shoulder separately. Cast off 1 stitch on the next row from the neck = 26-27-27-28-28-28 stitches on the shoulder. Continue A.1 until the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm, cast off. Work the other shoulder in the same way. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Cast on 61-67-70-79-85-91 stitches with circular needle size 3 mm and DROPS Sky. Purl 1 row from the wrong side, then work as follows from the right side: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, *purl 2, knit 1 twisted *, work from *-* until there are 9 stitches left, work 9 band stitches in garter stitch. Continue this rib for 4 cm. Knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 6-6-6-9-9-9 stitches evenly spaced (do not decrease the band) = 55-61-64-70-76-82 stitches. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and purl 1 row from the wrong side. Work the next row from the right side (and from the side) as follows: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, A.1, until there are 12-12-9-9-9-9 stitches left, work the first 3-3-0-0-0-0 stitches in A.1 and 9 band stitches in garter stitch. Continue this pattern. When the piece measures 26-27-28-29-30-31 cm, work as follows from the right side: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, A.1 until there are 9 stitches left - work A.2 over these 9 stitches as well as SHORT ROWS – read description above! V-NECK: At the same time as you start to work A.2 over the 9 band stitches, decrease 1 stitch for the V-neck – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 4th row a total of 12-12-13-13-14-15 times. The stitches which do not fit into A.1 are worked in stocking stitch. ARMHOLE: When the piece measures 30-31-32-33-34-35 cm, cast off for the armhole in the same way as on the back piece. After all the decreases to V-neck and armhole, there are 26-27-27-28-28-28 stitches + A.2 (which varies from 9-21 stitches) on the shoulder. When the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm, cast off the 26-27-27-28-28-28 stitches = leaving just A.2 on the needle. So the collar lies neatly along the neck-line on back piece, continue A.2 as follows (row 1 = right side): 1 row over all stitches, * 2 rows where you work all stitches apart from the 2 last stitches towards the neck, 2 rows over all stitches *, repeat from *-* until the collar measures 5-5-6-6-7-7 cm along the shortest side (finish after a complete repeat in height), cast off. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Cast on 61-67-70-79-85-91 stitches with circular needle size 3 mm and DROPS Sky. Purl 1 row from the wrong side, then work as follows from the right side: 9 band stitches in garter stitch, *knit 1 twisted, purl 2 *, work from *-* until there is 1 stitch left, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this rib for 4 cm. Knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 6-6-6-9-9-9 stitches evenly spaced = 55-61-64-70-76-82 stitches. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and purl 1 row from the wrong side. Work the next row from the right side as follows: 9 band stitches in garter stitch, A.1, until there are 4-4-1-1-1-1 stitches left, work the first 3-3-0-0-0-0 stitches in A.1 and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this pattern. Remember the BUTTONHOLES – read description above. When the piece measures 26-27-28-29-30-31 cm, work as follows from the right side: A.3 over the band stitches as well as SHORT ROWS, A.1 until there is 1 stitch left, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. V-NECK: At the same time as you start to work A.3 over the 9 band stitches, decrease 1 stitch for the V-neck – remember DECREASE TIP. After all the decreases to V-neck and armhole, there are 26-27-27-28-28-28 stitches + A.3 (which varies from 9-21 stitches) on the shoulder. When the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm, cast off 26-27-27-28-28-28 stitches, leaving just A.3 on the needle. So the collar lies neatly along the neck-line on back piece, continue A.3 as follows (row 1 = wrong side): 1 row over all stitches, * 2 rows where you work all stitches apart from the 2 last stitches towards the neck, 2 rows over all stitches *, repeat from *-* until the collar measures 5-5-6-6-7-7 cm along the shortest side (finish after a complete repeat in height), cast off. SLEEVES: Loosely cast on 62-65-68-71-74-77 stitches with circular needle size 3 mm and DROPS Sky. Purl 1 row from the wrong side, then work as follows from the right side: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, * knit 1 twisted, purl 2 *, work from *-* until there is 1 stitch left, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this rib for 4 cm. On the next row from the right side, increase by making 1 yarn over after each purled section. On the next row (wrong side), purl all stitches; the yarn overs purled twisted = 82-86-90-94-98-102 stitches. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and continue with stocking stitch. When the sleeve measures 11 cm, cast off for the sleeve cap at the beginning of each row: 3 stitches 1 time on each side, 2 stitches 3 times, then 1 stitch on each side until the sleeve measures 19-20-21-22-23-24 cm. On the next row from the right side knit all stitches together 2 and 2. Work 3 ridges over all stitches, cast off. Work the other sleeve in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. Sew the sleeve cap to the body, inside the 3 ridges; these are folded to the inside of the sleeve to support the puff at the top of the sleeve. Sew the sleeve and side seams in one go, inside the 1 edge stitch. Sew the buttons onto the left band. |
