Bon tricot!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. CASTING-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 4th stitch at the same time as casting off; the yarn overs are cast off as normal stitches. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. The diagram shows all rows in the pattern from the right side. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- VEST – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The front and back pieces are worked separately, back and forth, then sewn together. The sleeve edges and neck are worked in the round to finish. BACK PIECE: Cast on 56-60-64-68-76-80 stitches with circular needle size 8 mm and DROPS Wish. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) back and forth for 4 cm and next row should be worked from the wrong side. Change to circular needle size 9 mm. Purl the next row decreasing 2-4-4-4-4-4 stitches evenly on the row = 54-56-60-64-72-76 stitches. Now work A.1 over all stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 29-30-31-32-33-34 cm, cast off for the armholes at the beginning of every row as follows: 2-2-2-2-2-3 stitches 1 time and 1 stitch 0-0-1-2-6-6 times, then cast off 1 stitch at the beginning of every 2nd row 3-3-3-3-2-2 times on each side = 44-46-48-50-52-54 stitches. When the piece measures 57-59-61-63-65-67 cm, cast off the middle 18-18-20-20-22-22 stitches for the neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue the pattern and cast off 1 stitch on the next row from the neck = 12-13-13-14-14-15 stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm. Cast off. Work the other shoulder in the same way. FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work in the same way as the back piece until the piece measures 55-57-58-60-61-63 cm. Cast off the middle 14-14-16-16-18-18 stitches for the neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue the pattern and cast off on each row from the neck 1 stitch 3-3-3-3-3-3 times = 12-13-13-14-14-15 stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm. Cast off. Work the other shoulder in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams edge to edge. Sew the side seams from the armhole down, in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch. SLEEVE-EDGES: Use short circular needle size 8 mm. Start at the bottom of the armhole and knit up from the right side, inside 1 stitch, approx. 72-76-80-84-84-88 stitches around the armhole (the number of stitches should be divisible by 4). Work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 4 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl – read CASTING-OFF TIP in explanations above. Work the other sleeve-edge in the same way. DOUBLE NECK: Use short circular needle size 8 mm. Start at the top of one shoulder and knit up from the right side, inside 1 stitch, 56 to 68 stitches around the neck (the number of stitches should be divisible by 4). Work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 11 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl – remember CASTING-OFF TIP. Fold the neck double to the inside and sew down. To avoid the neck being tight and rolling outwards, it is important that the seam is elastic. |
