Du skal øke på hver side av A. 1 og A.2, altså øk før du strikker A.1 / A.2 og øk etter du har strikket A.1 / A.2= 8 økte masker pr raglansøkningsomgang.

I am starting to knit this beautiful sweater. After finishing the yoke, I will have 66 rows that gives a lengre of almost 24 cm, but you stare it should be 16 cm What can be wrong?
24.11.2023 - 16:10DROPS Design answered:
Dear Ana, the amount of rows is correct. However, you need to check that your gauge is correct. Since you are working the pattern in garter stitch, the gauge should be almost twice of the one in stocking stitches, since the ridges will contract the piece vertically (around 21 stitches and 42 rows = 10x10cm). Then, the length in cm should match. Happy knitting!

Buon lavoro!

It would be great if you’d confirm that when the sleeves are split from the body of this jumper, and the stitches are put onto a separate thread, that the 6 stitches that form cables on both front and back of each sleeve are also split so that some of the cable stitches become part of the sleeve and the remainder become part of the front or back section? As opposed to all the cable stitches becoming either part of a sleeve or part of the front or back. Does that make sense? Thank you.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked in the round): 1 ridge in height = 2 rounds; Knit 1 round and purl 1 round. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. RAGLAN: All increases are worked on a knitted round. Increase 1 stitch on each side of each A.1 and A.2 (= 8 stitches increased). Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over. On the next round work the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): All decreases are worked on a knitted round. Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker as follows. Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. CASTING-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 4th stitch at the same time as casting off and the yarn overs are cast off as normal stitches. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The jumper is worked top down, in the round, from mid back and with circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles. NECK: Cast on 60-64 (72-72-80-84) stitches with short circular needle size 4 mm and Karisma. Work 2 RIDGES – read description above, and increase 4 stitches evenly spaced on the last round = 64-68 (76-76-84-88) stitches. YOKE: The next round is worked as follows: Work 6-7 (9-9-11-12) stitches in garter stitch (= half the back piece), A.1 (= 6 stitches), 8 stitches in garter stitch, A.2 (= 6 stitches) (= right sleeve), 12-14 (18-18-22-24) stitches in garter stitch (= front piece), A.1 over the next 6 stitches, 8 stitches in garter stitch, A.2 over the next 6 stitches (= left sleeve) and 6-7 (9-9-11-12) stitches in garter stitch (= half the back piece). Work 1 more round like this. Increase to RAGLAN – read description above – on each side of each A.1 and A.2 as follows: Increase every 2nd round a total of 5 times, then every 4th round a total of 9-10 (11-12-13-14) times = 176-188 (204-212-228-240) stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When all the increases to raglan are finished, the piece measures approx. 11-12 (13-14-15-16) cm from the cast-on edge. Continue with garter stitch if necessary, without further increases, until the piece measures 11-12 (13-14-15-16) cm. On the next round divide the piece for the body and sleeves as follows: Work 24-26 (29-30-33-35) stitches in garter stitch (= half the back piece), place the next 40-42 (44-46-48-50) stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 6 stitches under the sleeve, work 48-52 (58-60-66-70) stitches in garter stitch (= front piece), place the next 40-42 (44-46-48-50) stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 6 stitches under the sleeve, work 24-26 (29-30-33-35) stitches in garter stitch (= half the back piece). BODY: = 108-116 (128-132-144-152) stitches. Work garter stitch until the piece measures 16-18 (20-23-26-29) cm from where it was divided for the body and sleeves. Cast off – read CASTING-OFF TIP. SLEEVES: Place the 40-42 (44-46-48-50) stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on double pointed needles size 4 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 46-48 (50-52-54-56) stitches. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the 6 stitches under the sleeve; decreases will be worked on either side of this marker. Work garter stitch in the round. When the piece measures 2 cm from the division, decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 8th-10th (12th-14th-14th-14th) round a total of 7-7 (7-7-8-8) times = 32-34 (36-38-38-40) stitches. Continue with garter stitch until the piece measures 17-20 (24-29-32-35) cm from the division. Cast off. Work the other sleeve in the same way. |
