Buon lavoro!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- MOSS STITCH (worked in the round): ROUND 1: * Knit 1, purl 1 *, repeat from *-*. ROUND 2: Knit over purl and purl over knit. Repeat 2nd round upwards. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. DECREASE TIP: To calculate how to decrease evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 70 stitches) and divide stitches by number of decreases to be done (e.g. 5) = 14. In this example knit approx. every 14th and 15th stitch together. RAGLAN: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the 4 markers dividing body and sleeves (= 8 stitches decreased per round). Decrease on each side of the 4 stitches in every transition, work these 4 stitches in stocking stitch towards sleeves and in moss stitches towards front and back piece. Decrease as follows: Work in stocking stitch or pattern as before until 4 stitches remain before marker, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked. Work 4 stitches (marker is in the middle of these stitches and work stitch in pattern depending on stitches on each side, either 2 stitches moss stitch + 2 stitches stocking stitch or 2 stitches stocking stitch + 2 stitches moss stitch). Work 2 stitches together (purl them if working in moss stitch or knit them if working in stocking stitch). INCREASE TIP (applies to sleeve): Begin 1 stitch before marker thread, make 1 yarn over, knit 2 (marker thread is in the middle of these 2 stitches), make 1 yarn over (= 2 stitches increased). On next round knit yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work body in the round on circular needle up to armhole, work sleeves in the round on double pointed needles up to armhole. Then slip sleeves on to same circular needle as body and yoke, work in the round, switch to a short circular needle or double pointed needles when needed. BODY: Cast on 122-130-138-146-150 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with 2 strands Alpaca. Knit 1 round and insert a marker at the beginning of round = the side of piece. Work rib with knit 1/purl 1 for 5 cm. Switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm. Work next round as follows: Work 18-20-22-24-25 stitches in MOSS STITCH - read explanation above. Now increase stitches and establish a pattern over the next 25 stitches mid front on piece as follows: Purl 3, knit 2 stitches in each of the next 2 stitches (work in front and back loop of same stitch) (= 2 stitches increased), purl 5, work 2 stitches in each of the next 2 stitches (= 2 stitches increased), purl 1, work 2 stitches in each of the next 2 stitches (= 2 stitches increased), purl 5, work 2 stitches in each of the next 2 stitches (= 2 stitches increased) and purl 3. Work 18-20-22-24-25 stitches in moss stitch and insert 1 marker in piece here (= the side), work in moss stitch the rest of round = 130-138-146-154-158 stitches. Then work as follows: Work 18-20-22-24-25 stitches in moss stitch, work diagram A.1 over the next 33 stitches and work moss stitch the rest of round. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 23-25-28-31-35 cm, cast off 6 stitches in each side, i.e. cast off 3 stitches on each side of each marker = 63-67-71-75-77 stitches on front piece and 55-59-63-67-69 stitches on back piece. Put piece aside and work the sleeves. SLEEVE: Cast on 29-31-31-33-35 stitches on double pointed needles size 4 mm with 2 strands Alpaca. Knit 1 round. Work rib with knit 1/purl 1 until piece measures approx. 5 cm. Switch to double pointed needles size 4.5 mm. Knit and increase 1 stitch over the first 10-11-11-12-13 stitches, establish pattern and increase over the next 8 stitches (= in the middle of sleeve) as follows: Purl 3, knit 2 in each of the next 2 stitches (= 2 stitches increased) and purl 3. Knit the last 11-12-12-13-14 stitches = 32-34-34-36-38 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread at beginning of round and move it upwards when working (= mid under sleeve). Work in stocking stitch with pattern A.2 over the 10 stitches established in the middle of sleeve. When piece measures 8-8-8-8-8 cm increase 1 stitch on each side of the 2 stitches mid under sleeve - read INCREASE TIP in explanation above. Increase like this every 2-2½-2½-3-3½ cm 9-9-10-10-10 times in total = 50-52-54-56-58 stitches. Work until sleeve measures 27-31-34-39-42 cm. On next round cast off 6 stitches mid mid under sleeve (i.e. cast off 3 stitches on each side of marker) = 44-46-48-50-52 stitches. Put sleeve aside and knit the other sleeve the same way YOKE: Slip sleeves on to same circular needle as body where stitches were cast off = 206-218-230-242-250 stitches. Begin round in transition between back piece and sleeve. Work 1 round as before (i.e. moss stitch on back piece, moss stitch + pattern A.1 on front piece, stocking stitch + pattern A.2 on sleeve). Insert a marker in every transition between sleeves and body = 4 markers. On next round begin decrease for RAGLAN – read explanation above. Repeat decrease on every other round 17-18-19-20-21 times in total = 70-74-78-82-82 stitches. Piece measures approx. 40-44-48-52-56 cm from shoulder and down. Knit 1 round and decrease 5-5-5-9-7 stitches evenly on round= 65-69-73-73-75 stitches. Purl 1 round. Then work rib knit 1/purl 1 until rib measures approx. 6 cm. Cast off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl. ASSEMBLY: Fold rib in neck towards the right side to place it double, fasten edge with small stitches. Sew together hole between sleeves and body. |
