Merci

INFORMATION FOR THE PATTERN: PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.7. The whole pattern is worked in stocking stitch apart from the colour marked with purl - NOTE: Decrease on every round marked with arrow. DECREASE TIP-1: To work out how to increase evenly, count all the stitches on the needle (e.g. 64 stitches) and divide by the number of decreases to be made (e.g. 8) = 8. In this example, work every 7th and 8th stitch together. KNITTING TIP: To strengthen the heel, you can work the heel and the heel decrease with 2 strands. Use the strand from the inside and outside of the ball and work 1 stitch alternately with the one then the other strand. In this way, you get a slightly thicker heel without working a double strand. HEEL DECREASE: ROW 1 (= right side): Knit until there are 7-7-8-8 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn the piece. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Purl until there are 7-7-8-8 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn the piece. ROW 3 (= right side): Knit until there are 6-6-7-7 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn the piece. ROW 4 (= wrong side): Purl until there are 6-6-7-7 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn the piece. Continue decreasing in this way by working until there is 1 less stitch left before slipping 1 stitch and until there are 12-14-14-14 stitches left on the needle. DECREASE TIP-2 (for toe): Decrease on each side of the marker as follows: Start 3 stitches before the marker, knit 2 together, knit 2 (the marker sits in the middle of these two stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (= 2 stitches decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- SOCK: The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles, from the leg down to the toe. Cast on 64-64-68-68 stitches with double pointed needles size 3 mm and dark mustard. Knit 1 round. Then work rib (= knit 2 / purl 2) with the following colours: Work 2 rounds with dark mustard, 2 rounds with off white, 2 rounds with dark mustard and then continue with off white until the rib measures 4-4-5-5 cm. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and knit 1 round where you decrease 8-0-4-4 stitches evenly on round - read DECREASE TIP-1 = 56-64-64-64 stitches. Work A.1 in the round (= 7-8-8-8 repeats of 8 stitches) - read PATTERN above. On the round marked with an arrow in the diagram, decrease 0-4-4-4 stitches evenly on round = 56-60-60-60 stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When A.1 has been completed, work A.2 in the round (= 14-15-15-15 repeats of 4 stitches). When A.2 has been completed, work A.3 in the round (= 7-7-7-7 repeats of 8 stitches). On the round marked with an arrow in the diagram decrease 0-4-4-4 stitches evenly on the round = 56-56-56-56 stitches. When A.3 has been completed, work A.4 in the round (= 9-9-9-9 repeats of 6 stitches). On the round marked with an arrow in the diagram, decrease 2-2-2-2 stitches evenly on the round = 54-54-54-54 stitches. When A.4 has been completed, work A.5 in the round (= 12-13-13-13 repeats of 4 stitches). On the round marked with an arrow in the diagram, decrease 6-2-2-2 stitches evenly on the round = 48-52-52-52 stitches. When A.5 has been completed, the piece measures approx. 25-25-26-26 cm. Continue with light blue grey. Knit 1 round where you increase 0-0-4-4 stitches evenly on the round (increase by making a yarn over, on the next round, work the yarn overs twisted to prevent holes) = 48-52-56-56 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch until the piece measures approx. 27-27-28-29 cm. The next round must be adjusted so that you get a large flower approx. mid front of the leg; adjust so that you get the stitches which are to be put on 1 thread as follows – keep the first 12-13-14-14 stitches on the needle for the heel, place the next 24-26-28-28 stitches on 1 thread (= top of foot) and keep the last 12-13-14-14 stitches on the needle for the heel. Read KNITTING TIP and work stocking stitch back and forth over the 24-26-28-28 heel stitches for 5-5½-6-6½ cm. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the row – THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE! Now work HEEL DECREASE – see description above. When the heel decreases are finished, knit up 11-12-13-14 stitches on each side of the heel and the 24-26-28-28 stitches from the thread are placed back on the needle = 58-64-68-70 stitches. Insert 1 marker on each side of the 24-26-28-28 stitches on top of foot. Decrease on each side of the 24-26-28-28 stitches on top of foot as follows: Knit together the 2 last stitches BEFORE the first marker on top of foot and knit twisted together the 2 first stitches AFTER the last marker on top of foot. Decrease in this way every 2nd round a total of 5-8-7-5 times = 48-48-54-60 stitches. Work 0-0-3-9 rounds with light blue grey and stocking stitch. Then work A.6 in the round (= 8-8-9-10 repeats of 6 stitches). When A.6 has been completed, work A.7 in the round (= 11-12-13-14 repeats of 4 stitches). On the round marked with an arrow in the diagram, decrease 4-0-2-4 stitches evenly on the round = 44-48-52-56 stitches. Continue working with light grey green and stocking stitch. When the piece measures approx. 18-20-22-25 cm from the marker on the heel (there are now approx. 4-4-5-5 cm left before finished length) insert 1 marker on each side of the sock so that there are 22-24-26-28 stitches both on top and underneath the foot. Now decrease to toe on each side of these 2 markers - read DECREASE TIP-2 (= 4 stitches decreased). Decrease in this way every 2nd round a total of 4-4-5-5 times and then every round a total of 5-6-6-7 times = 8-8-8-8 stitches left on the needle. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. Work another sock in the same way. |
