Hello, Drops Cotton & Viscose is discontinued. Can I use Drops Belle instead, with no adjustments? Thank you

Dear Madeleine, Cotton Viscose was yarn group A while Drops Belle is yarn group B. To find an alternative, try our yarn converter. Happy knitting!

I am making small size. If I follow directions for decreasing back piece, only 8 stitches are decreased (5 on one side and 3 on the other) leaving 90 stitches, not 86. What am I doing wrong? Also, don't understand bind off directions for back piece - 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 1 time every other row. Does that mean 2 sts at beginning of row then 1 st at beginning of next row? What's the reference to every other row mean? Thank you!
04.11.2016 - 22:27DROPS Design answered:
Dear Teresa, in size S you will bind off at the beg of each row both from RS and WS: 3 sts 1 time + 2 sts 1 time + 1 st 1 time = 6 sts on each side = a total of 12 sts cast off, 86 sts remain. For neckline, bind off 1 st towards neckline on 2nd row worked from neckline after binding off the middle sts for neckline. Happy knitting!

Seems to be error in schematic with measurements. Pattern says measure is with centimeters but the numbers are incorrect for a garment knit in the round. Size small with bust of 32 inches should not be 41 cm. That would equal 17 inches around the body not 32 inches. All other size measurements are also incorrect. Would appreciate a correction and response. Thank you for your lovely patterns.
19.09.2016 - 22:10DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Duddleston, the measurements in chart are taken flat from side to side for each size - read more here. So that a size small is 41 cm x 2 = 82 cm around body. Happy knitting!

How many stiches make up the bands? There is no reference to this in the pattern.
14.03.2016 - 14:28DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Cersosimo, front bands are not worked at the same time as body, but sts for both front bands are picked up along front pieces - before picking up sts around the neck - see under "ASSEMBLY" at the end of the written pattern. Happy knitting!

Søt jakke. På bildet er det tydelig stolper og "bråt" i rillestrikk, men i mønsteret står det perlestrikk. Syns nesten det burde være samsvar mellom bildet og mønsteret. Blir usikker på om det er forskjeller på resten også
17.03.2014 - 08:49DROPS Design answered:
Hei Anne. Det er perlestrikk du skal strikke. Modellen paa billedet har ogsaa perlestrikk paa stolpen :-)

MOSS ST: Row 1: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from *-*. Row 2: K over P and P over K. Repeat 2nd row. GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K. PATTERN: See diagram A.1 (1 diagram = 1 repetition). Diagram is seen from RS. INCREASE TIP: Inc 1 st by making 1 YO, on next row K YO twisted (i.e. work in back loop of st instead front) to avoid holes. When inc 2 sts, inc as 1 st but inc 2nd st by getting yarn between 2 sts from previous row - work this st twisted, i.e. work in back loop of st instead of front to avoid holes. BUTTONHOLES: Cast off for buttonholes on right band after 5 rows moss st. 1 buttonhole = cast off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts on next row over these sts. Cast off for buttonholes when piece measures (measured from bottom edge of body): SIZE S: 2, 11, 20, 29, 38 and 47 cm. SIZE M: 2, 11, 21, 30, 40 and 49 cm. SIZE L: 3, 12, 22, 31, 41 and 50 cm. SIZE XL: 2, 12, 22, 32, 42 and 52 cm. SIZE XXL: 3, 13, 23, 33, 43 and 53 cm. SIZE XXXL: 2, 13, 23, 34, 44 and 55 cm. Cast off the last buttonhole on 2nd row on neck edge. ---------------------------------------------------------- BODY: Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 198-214-230-254-286-318 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side towards mid front) on circular needle size 2.5 mm with Cotton Viscose. Work in MOSS ST - see explanation above - for 2.5 cm. Switch to circular needle size 3 mm and work next row from RS as follows: 1 edge st in GARTER ST - see explanation above - work A.1 (= 17 sts), stocking st until 18 sts remain, A.1 (= 17 sts), 1 edge st in garter st. Continue the pattern like this - REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION. When piece measures 36-37-38-39-40-41 cm, slip the first and last 50-54-58-64-72-80 sts on a stitch holder, work only over the middle 98-106-114-126-142-158 sts = back piece. BACK PIECE: = 98-106-114-126-142-158 sts. Continue in stocking st - AT THE SAME TIME cast off for armholes at beg of every row as follows: 4 sts 0-0-0-1-1-2 times, 3 sts 1-1-1-1-2-3 times, 2 sts 1-2-3-3-4-4 times, 1 st 1-3-3-3-4-5 times = 86-86-90-94-98-98 sts remain on needle. When piece measures 51-53-55-57-59-61 cm, cast off the middle 30-30-32-32-34-34 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Then cast off on every other row from neck as follows: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 1 time = 25-25-26-28-29-29 sts remain on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 55-57-59-61-63-65 cm. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: = 50-54-58-64-72-80 sts (incl 1 edge st mid front). Continue pattern as before while AT THE SAME TIME casting off for armholes the same way as on back piece = 44-44-46-48-50-50 sts remain on needle. When piece measures 47-49-50-52-53-55 cm, cast off on every row from neck as follows: 9-9-10-10-11-11 sts 1 time, 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 3 times = 25-25-26-28-29-29 sts. Cast off when piece measures 55-57-59-61-63-65 cm. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Work as right front piece but reversed. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 74-78-84-88-88-88 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 2.5 mm with Cotton Viscose. Work in MOSS ST - see explanation above - for 2.5 cm. Switch to circular needle size 3 mm and work in stocking st. When piece measures 3 cm, inc 1-1-1-1-2-2 sts in each side - READ INCREASE TIP! Then inc in each side 1-1-1-1-1-2 sts every 3-2½-2-1½-1-1 cm 3-4-4-5-7-5 times in total = 82-88-94-100-106-112 sts. When piece measures 14-14-13-13-11-9 cm, cast off for sleeve cap at beg of every row in each side as follows: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 0-0-1-0-0-0 times, 2 sts 7-11-6-13-4-4 times, 1 st 0-0-1-0-5-13 times, 2 sts 0-0-4-0-6-3 times, 3 sts 3-1-1-1-2-2 times, cast off the remaining sts, piece measures approx. 21-22-22-23-23-24 cm. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. Sew sleeve seams in outer loops of edge sts, sew in sleeves. Pick up approx. 106-124 sts along left front piece on circular needle size 2.5 mm and work moss st back and forth on needle for 2.5 cm. Repeat along right front piece – AT THE SAME TIME cast off for BUTTONHOLES – see explanation above. Pick up approx. 106 - 120 sts around the neck and over both bands on circular needle size 2.5 mm and work moss st back and forth on needle for 2.5 cm – AT THE SAME TIME cast off for top buttonhole in right side. Sew on buttons. |
