There is a pattern on the bottom edge of this sweater but no reference to it in the instructions. Is it an extra addition to the bottom and where are the instructions??

Dear Mrs Salloway, the picture of the child jumper at the bottom of the page is linking to this pattern. Happy knitting!

Jaka jest długość tego swetra, w opisie jest 42-44, na schemacie 52-54

Witaj Ewo, już zgłosiłam korektę. Powinno być tak: Front piece: = 91-98 sts. Cast off for armhole each side on every other row: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2 times = 83-90 sts. After M.2 continue in stocking st. When piece measures 48-50 cm from the bootom edge, cast off the middle 36-36 sts for neck and complete each side separately. Work M.3, at the same time cast off to shape the neckline at the beg of every row from mid front: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2 times. Cast off remaining sts on shoulder when piece measures 52-54 cm. Pozdrawiamy!

I have just started the pattern (S/M) and am beginning to incr for the body. 1st inc = 10 stitches evenly (total st 154); 2nd inc = 2 st each side every other round 3 times = 12 st (tot st 166); 3rd inc = 2 st every 3rd round 6 times = 12 st (tot st = ONLY 178 st, not 190 as stated in pattern). Where am I going wrong???? Thanks!
27.05.2013 - 21:01DROPS Design answered:
Dear Karen, you should inc 2 sts on each side, ie 4 sts on each inc row, you will then get a total of 24 inc. Happy knitting!

Pattern: See diagram. The diagram is seen from the RS. Bobble: Inc to 2 sts in 1 st, work 2 rows stocking st on these 2 sts, on next row K2 tog. Body piece: Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 144-144 sts on needle size 5.5 mm, change to needle size 5 mm and work M.1 (= approx 10 cm). Now continue in stocking st, at the same time inc 10-24 sts evenly on first round = 154-168 sts. Inc 2 sts each side on every other round 3 times, and then 2 sts on every 3rd round 6 times = 190-204 sts. Remember the knitting tension! At the same time when piece measures 19-20 cm work M.2 on the middle 35 sts on front piece (work cable in M.2 on the middle 6 sts) – do not work M.2 on back piece. At the same time when piece measures 23-24 cm cast off 4 sts each side for armhole and complete front and back pieces separately. Front piece: = 91-98 sts. Cast off for armhole each side on every other row: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2 times = 83-90 sts. After M.2 continue in stocking st. When piece measures 38-40 cm cast off the middle 36-36 sts for neck and complete each side separately. Work M.3, at the same time cast off to shape the neckline at the beg of every row from mid front: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2 times. Cast off remaining sts on shoulder when piece measures 42-44 cm (+ M.1). Back piece: = 91-98 sts. Cast off for armhole each side as described for front piece. When piece measures 38-40 cm work M.3, and at the same time when piece measures 41-43 cm cast off the middle 39-40 sts for neck and complete each side separately. Cast off 2 sts on neckline on next row. Cast off remaining sts on shoulder when piece measures 42-44 cm (+ M.1). Sleeves: Cast on 36-36 sts on double pointed needle size 5.5 mm, change to needle size 5 mm and continue in M.1 (= approx 10 cm). Now continue in M.3 (place a pattern repeat mid upper sleeve), at the same time inc 12-12 sts evenly on first round = 48-48 sts. Now inc 2 sts mid under arm a total of 26-27 times on * every other and 3rd round * alternately = 100-102 sts. When piece measures 36-36 cm cast off 6 sts mid under arm and complete piece back and forth on needle. Cast off to shape the sleeve cap each side on every other row: 6 sts 5 times, cast off remaining sts. Piece measures approx 41-41 cm. Assembly: Join shoulders. Pick up approx 90 sts round the neckline on needle size 5 mm and work 1 round stocking st, at the same time work 3 bobbles on each shoulder, one in the middle st and the remaining 2 either side with 5 sts between each bobble. P 1 round and cast off on next round. Now crochet a border round neckline with crochet hook size 3 mm as follows: * 3 dc, 3 ch, 1 sl st in the first ch *, repeat from *-*. Set in sleeves. |
