Question for the Breezy Belle Hat. I've never seen instructions to a crochet pattern in this manner before. It's very confusing. Is there a pattern that is explicitly written out step by step as in most patterns? I really like this hat but cannot follow the instructions listed on the website. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Dear Marcey, we only have diagrams to this pattern, this lesson might hep you understanding how to read crochet patterns. Happy crocheting!

18.05.2024 - 22:58DROPS Design answered:
Hej Lisa, ja du har 10 x 6 =60 masker (10 m i en rapport) efter 4.omgang. 5. omgang hækler du således i de 10 masker: 2 st i første, 1 st i hver af anden og tredje, 2 lm, 1 st i hver af sjette og syvende, 2st i ottende, 2 lm over niende og tiende = 12 masker over første rapport x 6 =72 masker efter 5.omgang :)

Hei.

After crocheting the first 5 rows I have 8 holes in the pattern and 80 stitches alltogether, is this right? After this I would need to decrease the number on three rows during the following pattern, but somehow have 90 stitches before starting the rim. Where is the error, what am i not understanding?
18.06.2023 - 11:59DROPS Design answered:
Dear Finnishknitter, after working row 5 (the row before the one with the black square) you should have: 3 chain stitches at the beginning + 72 stitches, including chain stitches in A.2 and 12 holes. Take into account that, apart from decreasing, you will also work more chain stitches and then work treble crochets over these stitches, where you are also increasing. At the end, you should have 15*6 = 90 stitches. Happy crocheting!

How many stitches do we have at first round of pattern? Is it 6 double crochet or 7? I am not sure if i am reading diagram Corey. Thank you for reply.
29.04.2023 - 21:24DROPS Design answered:
Dear Phuong, you start with 4 chain stitches, which form a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Now work: ch3 (A.1) and work 2dc /2 tr (US/UK terms) 6 times in total. So you will have ch3 and 12dc. Happy crocheting!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.4. (A.1 and A.3 show how round begins and ends). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE. Work in the round top down. HAT: Work 4 chain stitches on hook size 4 mm with DROPS Paris and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. Then work pattern as follows: Work A.1 (shows how round begins and ends), work A.2 6 times in total on round. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! When A.1 and A.2 have been worked vertically, there are 90 treble crochets on round. Continue with last round in A.1 and A.2 until piece measures 16 cm. BRIM: Work A.3 (shows how round begins and ends), work A.4 10 times in total on round. When A.3 and A.4 have been worked vertically, there are 160 treble crochets on round. Now work a finishing edge as follows: Work 1 double crochet around every treble crochet, i.e. do not work in stitch loops but work around the stitch itself. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in first stitch. Cut and fasten the yarn. |
