Buongiorno Daniela, in alternativa può utilizzare i ferri circolari con il cavo corto o i ferri circolari con un cavo flessibile di almeno 80 cm e la tecnica del magic loop. Buon lavoro!

I want to make a pair of 229-21; fa-493 in each size. My foot fits smallest size. How many inches knit the rounds to that are for medium n large sizes (after heel and decreases) Ican’t try them on. Do I knit the rounds to the Foot lengths stated in pattern(medium 91/2” n large 10 5/8”. ) then do toe decreases? Pattern: Continue working till foot measures 71/2”-81/4” from marker on heel. There is 2”,23/8” left to finish length Try sock on-decide length before toe

Dear Mrs Bussjaeger, in the 2nd size work the foot until piece measures 19 cm = 7½" from the marker on heel; approx. 5 cm = 2" remain for the toe. When toe is done, the whole sock measures approx. 24 cm =. 9½". Depending on the foot length, you can adjust the length before decreasing for toe, of just follow the written pattern for a 24 cm / 9½" foot length in 2nd size.Happy knitting!

For the heel flap on socks pattern fa-493.. Pattern says to knit the first 13 sts, then put next 28 on thread , then keep next 13 sts on the needle —So do the second set of 13sts stay on a separate needle? —So are the 26 heel flap sts on two separate needles .. If so is the first row of heel flap a purl row?
14.04.2024 - 23:08DROPS Design answered:
Dear Kay, the 13 +13 stitches are both in the double pointed needles. The 28 stitches are put in a thread or stitch holder or other needles, just without working them. Then, you start working back and forth over the 26 stitches that are still on the needles. You knit over the first 13 stitches and should turn right where the stitches were put on the thread/holder and the 13 knitted stitches, then start working in stocking stitch over these 13 stitches and the 13 stitches which were left unworked at the end of the previous row. Since you turned the piece and started working back and forth, the row over all 26 stitches should be from the wrong side (so you purl). Happy knitting!

In video three stitches before toe marker a ssk is done and after marker there is a knit st and then k2tog. However instructions for this sunny sneaker pattern say “ start 3 sts before marker, k2 tog, knit 2 (marker will sit between these 2 sts), (now after the marker) , then slip as if to knit, knit 1 and passo the knitted st. Which is correct?

Hi Kay, Follow the instructions in the text for the decreases. The video is an example, and may differ from the specific pattern you are working. Happy crafting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- HEEL DECREASES: ROW 1 (= right side): Knit until there are 6-7-7 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Purl until there are 6-7-7 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to purl, purl 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn. ROW 3 (= right side): Knit until there are 5-6-6 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn. ROW 4 (= wrong side): Purl until there are 5-6-6 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to purl, purl 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn. Continue to decrease like this, working until there is 1 stitch less each time before slipping a stitch and until there are 16-16-18 stitches left on the needle. DECREASE TIP (for toe): Start 3 stitches before the marker, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). Repeat at the other marker. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SOCK – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round, top down. LEG: Cast on 56-60-64 stitches with double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and DROPS Fabel. Work 2 rounds of stocking stitch, then work rib (knit 1, purl 1) for 2-2-3 cm. After the rib work stocking stitch until piece measures 3-3-4 cm from cast on edge – AT THE SAME TIME on the first round decrease 2 stitches evenly spaced = 54-58-62 stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! HEEL AND FOT: Work stocking stitch over the first 13-14-15 stitches and keep these stitches on the needle, place the next 28-30-32 stitches on a thread (top of foot) and keep the last 13-14-15 stitches on the needle = 26-28-30 heel-stitches. Work stocking stitch back and forth over the heel stitches for 6-6-6½ cm. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the last row – the foot is measured from this marker. Work HEEL DECREASES – read description above. After the heel decreases work as follows: Stocking stitch over the 16-16-18 heel stitches, knit up 16-16-17 stitches along the side of the heel, stocking stitch over the 28-30-32 stitches from the thread and knit up 16-16-17 stitches along the other side of the heel = 76-78-84 stitches. Work to the middle of the heel – the round now starts here. Insert 1 marker on each side of the 28-30-32 stitches on top of the foot. Work stocking stitch in the round and decrease at each marker as follows: Knit together the last 2 stitches before the first marker and knit twisted together the first 2 stitches after the second marker. Decrease like this every 2nd round a total of 12-11-12 times = 52-56-60 stitches. Continue working until the foot measures 18-19-21 cm from the marker on the heel and measured under the foot. There is approx. 4-5-6 cm left to finished length; try the sock on and work to desired length before decreasing for the toe. TOE: Insert 1 marker in each side, with 26-28-30 stitches both underneath and on top of the foot. Work stocking stitch. AT THE SAME TIME on the first round decrease on each side of both markers – read DECREASE TIP (= 4 stitches decreased). Decrease like this every 2nd round a total of 4-7-9 times, then every round 6-3-2 times = 12-16-16 stitches. On the next round knit all stitches together 2 and 2 = 6-8-8 stitches. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. The foot measures approx. 22-24-27 cm measured under the foot. Work the other sock in the same way. |
