Bonjour.

EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (back and forth): 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.25. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. MEASUREMENTS All measurements are measured along edge stitches in the side. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- STOLE - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Worked back and forth in an angle in 2 equal parts and sewn together in the middle when finished. The parts are worked from the short side towards the middle of the piece with different parts in strips, lace pattern and stocking stitch in an angle. Towards the end, the piece it is divided and worked back and forth over only half of the stitches. This is done at the same time as it is decreased in the sides to make a straight finish at the end at the middle of the piece. PART 1: Cast on 7 stitches on circular needle size 3 mm with medium grey. Knit 1 row from wrong side. Then work as follows: ROW 1 (= from right side): Work 2 edge stitches in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above, 1 yarn over, 1 stitch in garter stitch, 1 yarn over, knit 1 (= middle stitch, insert 1 marker in this stitch), 1 yarn over, 1 stitch in garter stitch, 1 yarn over and finish with 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, (= 4 stitches increased in total). ROW 2 (= from wrong side): Knit until stitch with marker, knit yarn overs, they should make holes, purl stitch with marker, knit the rest of row. ROW 3: Work 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, 1 yarn over, knit until middle stitch, 1 yarn over, knit 1 (= middle stitch), 1 yarn over, knit until 2 stitches remain, 1 yarn over and finish with 2 edge stitches in garter stitch (= 4 stitches increased in total). Repeat 2nd and 3rd row, i.e. increase 4 stitches on every row from right side, work middle stitch in stocking stitch and work the remaining stitches in garter stitch. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Continue like this until there are 139-163 stitches on the needle. Work 1 row from wrong side as before AT THE SAME TIME increase 1 stitch on each side of middle stitch by working 2 stitches in same stitch = 141-165 stitches (= 70-82 stitches on each side of middle stitch). Now continue to increase on each side of middle stitch but decrease inside 2 edge stitches in each side of piece, i.e. number of stitches is the same, as follows: 1ST SECTION (lace pattern and garter stitch): Work with medium grey as follows: Work 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.1 (= 5 stitches), work A.2 (= 2 stitches) until 1 stitch remains before middle stitch (= 31-37 times in width), A.3 (= 1 stitch), 1 stitch in stocking stitch (= middle stitch), A.4 (= 2 stitches), work A.2 until 8 stitches remain (= 30-36 times in width), A.5 (= 6 stitches) and finish with 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. When A.1 to A.5 have been worked, piece measures approx. 2 cm - read MEASUREMENTS above. Work 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.6 (= 5 stitches), work A.7 (= 2 stitches) until 1 stitch remains before middle stitch (= 31-37 times in width), A.8 (= 1 stitch), 1 stitch in stocking stitch (= middle stitch), A.9 (= 2 stitches), work A.7 until 8 stitches remain (= 30-36 times in width), A.10 (= 6 stitches) and finish with 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. When A.6 to A.10 have been worked, piece measures approx. 4 cm. 2ND SECTION (lace pattern): Work with off white as follows: Work 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.11 (= 9 stitches), work A.12 (= 12 stitches) until 11 stitches remain before middle stitch (= 4-5 times in width), A.13 (= 11 stitches), 1 stitch in stocking stitch (= middle stitch), A.14 (= 10 stitches), work A.12 until 12 stitches remain (= 4-5 times in width), A.15 (= 10 stitches) and finish with 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. When A.11 to A.15 have been worked, piece measures approx. 7 cm. 3RD SECTION (garter stitch and lace pattern): Work with medium grey as follows: Work 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.6 over 5 stitches, work A.7 until 1 stitch remains before middle stitch (= 31-37 times in width), A.8 over 1 stitch, 1 stitch in stocking stitch (= middle stitch), A.9 over 2 stitches, work A.7 until 8 stitches remain (= 30-36 times in width), A.10 over 6 stitches and finish with 2 edge stitches in garter stitch.
