Liebe Teresa, da das Tuch nur mit Streifen gestrickt wurde, haben wir nur dazu Erfahrung, am besten kalkulieren Sie alle Farben zusammen. Viel Spaß beim Stricken!

Hello, I am asking regarding the Yarn Overs at the beginning of rows to make the pretty edge - on the next row following Yarn over Knit one Yarn Over , do I knit into the back of yarn over created stich, my edge is looking untidy and not pretty, I am keeping my tension uniform so that would not affect it ? Many thanks for your advise.

Dear Mrs Mashlan, this video shows how to start a row with a yarn over and how to knit it on next row, so that you will see how it will look like, this might help you. Happy knitting!

Buon lavoro!

In row 5, "Make 1 yarn over, knit 1, 1 yarn over, knit 2 together" gives me 4 stitches. *-* 25 times gets100 stitches , then knit 3 stitches. Altogether is only 107 stitches, but instruction says 108 stitches. What have I missed?
03.10.2020 - 17:56DROPS Design answered:
Dear Miranda, you make 2 yarn overs at the beg of the row then 25 yarn overs when repeating from *to* = 27 yarn overs = 27 increases. There were 81 sts + 27=108 sts. Happy knitting!

My pattern doesn't say that!!! Before the repeats it says' Make 1 yarn over, knit1, 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, 1 yarn over, knit 1. That needs 6 stitches not 3! Is the pattern wrong?

Hello Janet. In case of any doubt, please always refer to the text online. Happy knitting!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (back and forth): Knit all rows (1 ridge = 2 knitted rows). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work back and forth, top down on circular needle in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above. Knit yarn overs to make holes when increasing. SHAWL: Cast on 9 stitches on circular needle size 3.5 mm with light grey. Knit 1 row. CAST-OFF WITH PICOT: Switch to old pink and loosely cast off from right side as follows: Knit 1, * insert right needle between the first 2 stitches on left needle (i.e. between stitches on needle, not through stitches), make 1 yarn over on right needle, pull yarn over forward between the stitches and slip yarn over on to left needle *, work from *-* 3 times in total (= 3 new stitches on left needle), knit and cast of the next 6 stitches 1 by 1 (= 1st stitch on right needle + 3 yarn overs and 2 stitches from left needle). Now continue to work from *-* + cast off 6 stitches the same way along the entire cast-off until there are no stitches left to make a new picot and cast off the remaining stitches. Cut the yarn and pull it through the last stitch, tighten tog and fasten. |
