I’m having trouble understanding the instructions about how much of each color to buy. What does 150-150-150g color Off-white mean (50-50-100, etc)? Thank you!
27.12.2023 - 22:38DROPS Design answered:
Dear Beth, it means that for size S/M you need the first amount, for the next size the second amount, e.t.c. For example, you need 150 grams of off white regardless of the size but you will need 50grams of Light Old pink for the first 2 sizes and 100grams for the largest size. Happy knitting!

MfG Daniela Uiberlacker

Hi, I'd like to make this bigger, longer and wider. How to continue? Nina
25.08.2022 - 21:10DROPS Design answered:
Dear Nina, since you work it top down, you can lengthen the garment by simply repeating A.2 up to the desired length. If you want to work a larger size, you can add one more repeat of 17 stitches on the round. You can see a longer poncho, with a similar wave pattern, here: https://www.garnstudio.com/pattern.php?id=6190&cid=19. Happy knitting!

Hei, Haluaisin jatkaa ponchon pituutta ainakin 15- 20 cm. Miten toimin? t. Nina

Voit tehdä ponchosta pidemmän toistamalla piirroksen A.2 mallikertaa kuten aiemmin.

Sain eilen ponchon valmiiksi. Sovitin ylleni ja poncho valui yli olkapäiden, poncho tehty ohjeiden mukaan. Kaula aukko ei pysy lainkaan kohdallaan.

Appreciate the perfect instructions. This is the first time I have tried your pattern and was apprehensive about it. But it was nothing to worry about. Reading the chart was easy, and for my convenience I wrote it in words. ☺️ Thanks again. Looking forward to more such patterns.

INFORMATION FOR THE PATTERN: PATTERN: See diagram A.1. STRIPES: All the stripes are worked with 1 strand Alpaca + 2 strands Kid-silk (= 3 strands). Work 6 cm of each stripe before changing colour. STRIPE 1: 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk off white + 2 strands Kid-Silk off white. STRIPE 2: 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk off white + 1 strand Kid-Silk light pink + 1 strand Kid-Silk off white. STRIPE 3: 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk off white + 2 strands Kid-Silk light pink. STRIPE 4: 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk off white + 1 strand Kid-Silk medium pink + 1 strand Kid-Silk light pink. STRIPE 5: 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk off white + 2 strands Kid-Silk medium pink STRIPE 6: 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk light old pink + 1 strand Kid-Silk medium pink + 1 strand Kid-Silk light pink. STRIPE 7: 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk light old pink + 2 strands Kid-Silk medium pink. INCREASE TIP: To work out how to increase evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g. 120 stitches), and divide by the number of increases to be made (e.g. 16) = 7.5. In this example, increase alternately after every 7th and 8th stitch. Increase with 1 yarn over after the stitch and work the yarn over twisted on the next row. ---------------------------------------------------------- PONCHO: The poncho is worked in the round with circular needle, top down. Cast on 90-102-114 stitches with 1 strand Baby Alpaca Silk off white + 2 strands Kid-Silk off white (= 3 strands) with circular needle size 7 mm. Knit 1 round, then work rib; knit 1 / purl 2. When the piece measures 12 cm increase 1 stitch in each knitted section = 120-136-152 stitches. Continue with rib; knit 2 / purl 2. When the piece measures 25-25-25 cm knit 1 round where you increase 16-17-18 stitches evenly on round – read INCREASE TIP = 136-153-170 stitches. Purl 1 round, then work according to A.1 (= 8-9-10 repeats in width), and also work STRIPES – see description above! When A.1 has been worked 1 time in height, there are 232-261-290 stitches on the round. Now repeat the last 6 rounds in the diagram (= A.2) until the piece measures 40-42-44 cm from the rib (you have worked approx. 6 cm of each of the 6 first stripes and approx. 4-6-8 cm of stripe 7). Cast off as follows: * Cast off one stitch, make a yarn over and cast off the yarn over,* repeat from *-* until all stitches have been cast off. Fasten the strands. |
