At Row 3 (ANKLE ELEVATION), I thought I understood your KNITTING TIP. I ... K6, turned, slipped next st as if to purl, P5 (to end). I continued in the same manner. Then, I notice at ... NOW INC FOR HEEL AS FOLLOWS ... "Work 10, turn & work 9, work 2 sts in last st on needle ..." If I follow the KNITTING TIP as I understand it, I will ... K10, turn, slip 1 as if to P, P9 (and be finish with the row ... I sure won't have 2 sts left!! So, what am I not understanding?
27.01.2013 - 20:55DROPS Design answered:
At first you work ANKLE ELEVATION, and after that INC for HEEL, and then DEC for HEEL. You don't work them in same time. Also first slipped stitch is included in P 9. You have 1 left - make 2 sts in this stitch.

J'ai constaté une seconde anomalie. L'augmentation du talon commence à partir de l'écru et non du beige clair.

J'ai relevé une première erreur après les rangs raccourcis, il ne faut pas faire les 4 diminutions mais les augmenter.

Work 1 row on all sts. Repeat from *-* the opposite side, beg from WS. Then work 1 row on all sts from WS. KNITTING TIP: When turning mid piece slip first st, tighten thread and continue as before. There might be a small hole in piece but this will even out after felting. -------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPER: Worked back and forth on needle in stocking st. Beg at the top of leg and finish with the toe. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Cast on 38-42-44-44 sts on needle size 9 mm with light beige mix. Work stocking st as follows (row 1 = from RS): K2 tog, 34-38-40-40 stocking sts, K2 tog = 36-40-42-42 sts. Work row 2 as follows (= from WS): P2 tog, 32-36-38-38 stocking st, P2 tog = 34-38-40-40 sts. Work row 3 as follows (= from RS): Work ANKEL ELEVATION on the outermost sts each side - see above! NOW INC FOR HEEL AS FOLLOWS: From RS (continue with light beige mix): * Work 10-10-11-12 sts, turn and work 9-9-10-11 sts, work 2 sts in last st on needle. Work 6-6-7-7 sts, turn and work 5-5-6-6 sts, work 2 sts in last st on needle. Work 1 row on all sts *. Repeat from *-* on the opposite side, beg from WS. NOW DEC FOR HEEL AS FOLLOWS: Change to off-white and work next row as follows: * Work 10-10-11-12 sts, turn and work 8-8-9-10 sts, work the last 2 sts tog. Work 6-6-7-7 sts, turn and work 4-4-5-5 sts, work the last 2 sts tog. Work 1 row on all sts *. Repeat from *-* on the opposite side with start from WS. NOW WORK THE FOOT AS FOLLOWS: Insert a marker in the outermost st on the side, now measure piece from here. Change to light beige mix and continue with stripes with 4 rows in each colour, AT THE SAME TIME dec from RS on upper foot as follows: Work 8-8-9-10 sts, K2 tog, work row until 10-10-11-12 sts remain, K2 tog, work remaining sts on row. Repeat the dec on every row from RS a total of 3-3-4-4 times = 24-28-28-30 sts. Continue in stripes without dec until piece measures approx 18-21-25-29 cm from marker (finish after a full stripe). Change colour for the toe and complete slipper in this colour. DEC FOR TOE AS FOLLOWS: Dec 3-4-4-4 sts evenly on next row from RS. Repeat the dec on every row from RS a total of 4-4-4-4 times = 12-12-12-14 sts on needle. On next row from RS K2 tog across the row = 6-6-6-7 sts. Pull thread through remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. Sew tog mid under foot up to cast on row, edge to edge in outer loops of sts to avoid a chunky seam. FELTING: Place the slippers in the washing machine with a detergent free of enzymes and optical bleach. Wash them at 40 degrees with normal spin but no pre-wash. After wash shape the slippers to the right size while still wet and leave to dry flat. At subsequent washed wash the slippers at a wool programme. AFTER FELTING: If the piece is not felted enough and is too big: Wash the piece one more time in the washing machine while it is still wet add a terry towel that measures approx. 50 x 70 cm - NOTE: Do not use a short program. If the piece has been felted too much and is too small: While the piece is still wet stretch it to the correct measurements, if the piece is dry, make sure to soak it first. Remember: All subsequent washes are as a normal wool garment. |
