De halve patentsteek staat verkeerd beschreven in het patroon. Tevens wordt er niet vermeld, hoe, wanneer en waar je de knoopsgaten moet breien.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH: Knit all rows, from both the right and wrong side. FISHERMAN’S RIB (back and forth): ROW 1 (= wrong side): Work 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch, knit until there is 1 stitch left, work 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch. ROW 2 (= right side): Work 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch, * purl 1, knit 1 in stitch below the next stitch *, work from *-* until there are 2 stitches left, purl 1, work 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch. Repeat rows 1 and 2 onwards. STRIPES (for front pieces): Work 9-9-9-10-10 cm with colour Ochre/Yellow. Work 2-2-2-3-3 cm with colour Ruby Red. Work 9-9-9-10-10 cm with colour Light Sea Green/Sage Green. Work with colour Ruby Red to finished length. INCREASE TIP: Increase 1 stitch each side, inside the 1 edge-stitch (2 increased stitches) as follows: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches on the row below. Pick up the strand from the front and knit through the loop which lies on the back of the needle. Work the new stitches into the Fisherman’s rib. BUTTONHOLES: Work the buttonholes on the right band from the right side as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Knit 2 together, make 1 yarn over. ROW 2 (wrong side): Work the rib as before, knitting the yarn over to leave a hole. Work 3-3-4-4-4 buttonholes evenly spread, when the band measures 2-2½ cm. The top buttonhole is positioned 15-18-22-25-27 cm from the bottom edge, the bottom buttonhole 3-4-4-4-4-4½ cms from the bottom edge. The other 1-1-2-2-2 buttonholes are worked evenly between these 2, with 6-7-6-7-7½ cm between each one. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JACKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE. The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The piece is worked back and forth and bottom up with circular needle. The front pieces, back piece and sleeves are worked separately, then sewn together. Stitches are knitted up for the bands which are worked back and forth to finish. BACK PIECE: Cast on 71-73-77-81-85 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and colour Ruby Red DROPS Alaska or DROPS Air. Work rib starting from the wrong side as follows: Work 1 edge-stitch in GARTER STITCH – read explanation above, then rib (purl 1 and knit 1) until there are 2 stitches left, purl 1 and work 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch. From the right side: Work 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch, then rib (knit 1 and purl 1) until there are 2 stitches left, knit 1 and work 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch. Work this rib for 5 cm, with the last row from the wrong side. Change to circular needle size 8 mm. Knit 1 row from the right side with 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch on each side, decreasing 32-32-34-36-38 stitches evenly spaced on this row = 39-41-43-45-47 stitches. Continue with FISHERMAN’S RIB – read explanation above, with 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch on each side. Remember to maintain the knitting tension. Cast off when the piece measures 39-43-47-51-53 cm. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Cast on 35-37-39-41-43 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and colour Ruby Red. Work rib in the same way as on the back piece for 5 cm, with the last row from the wrong side. Change to circular needle size 8 mm. Knit 1 row from the right side with 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch on each side, decreasing 16-16-18-18-20 stitches evenly spaced on this row = 19-21-21-23-23 stitches. Continue with Fisherman’s rib, with 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch on each side until the piece measures 16-19-23-26-28 cm. Now begin decreasing for the neckline, decreasing 1 stitch 10-10-10-11-11 times every 6th row from the neck, by knitting the first 2 stitches together from the right side. AT THE SAME TIME when the piece measures 17-21-24-27-29 cm work STRIPES – read explanation above. When the neckline decreases are finished, there are 9-11-11-12-12 stitches left. Continue the Fisherman’s rib with 1 edge-stitch on each side until the piece measures 39-43-47-51-53 cm. Cast off. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Work in the same way as the right front piece but decrease for the neckline on the opposite side by knitting the last 2 stitches together; make sure the stripes and neck-decreases match the right front piece symmetrically. SLEEVES: The sleeves are worked back and forth, bottom up. Cast on 33-33-35-35-35 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and colour Ruby Red. Work rib starting from the wrong side as follows: Work 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch, then rib (purl 1 and knit 1) until there are 2 stitches left, purl 1 and work 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch. Knit 1 row from the right side with 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch on each side, decreasing 14 stitches evenly spaced on the first row = 19-19-21-21-21 stitches. Continue with Fisherman’s rib with 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch on each side. AT THE SAME TIME increase 1 stitch on each side 7-8-9-11-12 times, every 3 cm – read INCREASE TIP = 33-35-39-43-45 stitches. Cast off when the sleeve measures 29-33-37-41-45 cm. ASSEMBLY-1: Sew the shoulder-seams, stitch to stitch. Sew the side-seams edge-stitch to edge-stitch, leaving a 16-17-19-21-22 cm opening for the armhole on each side. Sew the sleeve-seams edge-stitch to edge-stitch, then sew the sleeves to the body. You can sew in shoulder-pads if you wish. LEFT BAND: Use circular needle size 4.5 mm and colour Ruby Red. Knit up stitches along the left front piece, from the right side and inside the 1 edge-stitch as follows: Knit up approx. 89-95-103-111-115 stitches between the bottom edge and mid-back (approx. 18 stitches per 10 cm with the stitch count divisible by 2+1). From the wrong side: 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch, work rib (purl 1 and knit 1) until there are 2 stitches left, purl 1, work 1 edge-stitch in garter stitch. Continue this rib for 5 cm. Cast off with rib. RIGHT BAND: Knit up and work stitches along the right front piece in the same way as for the left band, but when the band measures 2-2½ cm, work 3 BUTTONHOLES evenly spaced – read explanation above. After the buttonholes, continue the band to the same length as the left band. Cast off with rib. ASSEMBLY-2: Sew the 2 bands together at the back of the neck, stitch to stitch. Sew the buttons onto the left band. |
