How to knit a double stitch

In this DROPS video we show how to work 2 sts together laying on top of each other to create a texture. We have already knitted 2 inch/5 cm to show the pattern more clear.

From RS: * K 4, K1 in st below the K st on needle. (i.e. sts from the two previous rows are knitted as one) *, repeat *-* two more times and end with K4.
From WS: knit all sts, except double sts which are purled. Repeat these 2 rows for pattern.

You must read the pattern to be able to follow. You’ll find patterns using this technique by clicking on the pictures below.

Bon tricot!

Is the first row for the scarf knit all the way so that you actually start the double stitching in the second row (purl)? I am a beginner and need full instructions I would also appreciate a voice in English or Norwegian The sales ladies are usually nice but in general too busy to teach Thank-you

Dear Margarita, a correction has been added to this scarf, ie you will knit 1 row before starting pattern. Happy knitting!

Hello, I would like to say that the way the purled stitch is shown in the first video looks very complicated, especially for the beginners. There is another, more simple way to do it without wiggling the needle around :) Just a thought. Thank you for these videos! Bo
