What size yarn am I to use 4-5-6 weight?

Dear Candy, please understand that these patterns are made available to support DROPS yarns. So we cannot advise you about other yarns. Drops Vienna is discontinued, however it can be substituted with either Melody, or one therad of Fabel or Delight and one thread of KidSilk. Happy Knitting!

Instead of saying, " do a double treble AROUND a chain " why do you not tell us which SPACE we're crocheting into?? That is, into a 1 chain or 4 chain space or whatever? I thought this was an easy pattern, but the instructions are not clear. This is the second Drops pattern I've tried and I may have to give up on this one too.

Dear Mrs Foster, on round 5, you will crochet 5 chains and skip the 4-ch-space from round 4 (= 5 chains over 4 chains) and crochet in the chain-space between the first chain from (1 tr, 1 ch, 1 tr, 1 ch, 1 tr) of round 4: 1 dtr, 1 ch, 1 dtr, 1 ch, then in the 2nd 1-ch-space, crochet 1 dtr, 1 ch, 1 dtr. Happy crocheting!

Crochet poncho in "Vienna"

Crochet tension: Remember hook size is only a guide! 7 double treble crochets x 2 rows = approx. 10 x 8 cm. NOTE: Because of the pattern it is difficult to measure the crochet tension; work a small sample just with double treble crochets, so that you get the right tension. ------------------------------------------------------------ Poncho: Work in the round from the neck down. For a description of how to work treble crochets and double treble crochets - see page 2 (Crochet school). NOTE: Triple double treble crochets are worked in the same way as double treble crochet but with 3 yarn overs (instead of 2), in other words there is 1 more yarn over and pull through than on the double treble crochet. Work 96 (120) chain stitches with hook size 6 mm and Vienna and form them to a ring with 1 slip stitch. Round 1: 3 chain stitches (= 1 treble crochet), * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 treble crochet in the next chain stitch *, repeat from *-* to end of round and finish with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at beginning of round = 48 (60) treble crochets.
