16.11.2025 - 08:42DROPS Design answered:
Dag Astrid,

29.10.2025 - 16:01DROPS Design answered:
Hi, Martha, the first row of A.2 is only 6 stitches (you increase in the 6th stitch), so you knit A.2 19 times for size 6/9 months. Happy knitting!

Omgang, hvor mange masker strikkes mønsteret over ? Hvad betyder de “blanke” felter ? De blanke felter er flere steder i mønsteret
21.02.2025 - 11:14DROPS Design answered:
Hei Ulla.

I mistakenly forgot to change my comment to a question. This is my question: I have finished the 2 cm border. A1 begins with a purl stitch rather than a knit stitch on the right. This doesn't fit with the border pattern that begins the round with a knit stitch. Am I right that the A1 pattern is read from right to left?
02.11.2024 - 17:24DROPS Design answered:
Dear Lorraine, yes, the chart is read from right to left in all rounds, since you work always on the right side. The 2cm rib border and the rib in A.1 are completely independent one on the other so you can work purl over knit and knit over purl without any issues. Happy knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Choose diagram for your size (applies to A.1). DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on either side of the marker as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker, knit 2 together, knit 2, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle/double pointed needles, top down. The yoke is divided for the body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round with circular needle. The sleeves are worked with double pointed needles. NECK: Cast on 64-72-76-80 (84-84) stitches with double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and DROPS Baby Merino. Work rib (purl 1, knit 1) in the round for 2 cm. YOKE: Work A.1 over all stitches. When A.1 is finished there are 96-108-114-120 (126-126) stitches. Change to circular needle size 3 mm. Work A.2 over all stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! On the last round increase 0-0-0-0 (4-16) stitches evenly spaced = 192-216-228-240 (256-268) stitches. The piece measures approx. 11-11-11-12 (12-12) cm from the cast-on edge. Continue with stocking stitch until the piece measures 12-13-14-15 (16-17) cm. Divide for the body and sleeves as follows: Knit 29-32-33-35 (38-40), place the next 38-44-48-50 (52-54) stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 4-4-6-6 (6-6) stitches under the sleeve, knit 58-64-66-70 (76-80), place the next 38-44-48-50 (52-54) stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 4-4-6-6 (6-6) stitches under the sleeve, knit the last 29-32-33-35 (38-40) stitches. BODY: = 124-136-144-152 (164-172) stitches. Continue with stocking stitch in the round for a further 10-13-14-16 (18-21) cm. Now increase 8-8-12-13 (13-14) stitches evenly spaced = 132-144-156-165 (177-186) stitches. Change to circular needle size 2.5 mm and work rib (knit 1, purl 2) for 3 cm. Cast off with knit. The jumper measures approx. 25-29-31-34 (37-41) cm from the shoulder down. SLEEVES: Place the 38-44-48-50 (52-54) stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on double pointed needles size 3 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 4-4-6-6 (6-6) stitches cast on under the sleeve = 42-48-54-56 (58-60) stitches. Insert a marker thread in the middle of the 4-4-6-6 (6-6) stitches under the sleeve. Work stocking stitch in the round for 2 cm. Now decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 2-1½-1-1½ (2-3) cm a total of 2-4-6-6 (6-6) times = 38-40-42-44 (46-48) stitches. When the sleeve measures 6-9-10-13 (16-21) cm, increase 4-5-6-4 (5-6) stitches evenly spaced = 42-45-48-48 (51-54) stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and work rib (purl 2, knit 1) for 3 cm. Cast off with knit. Work the other sleeve in the same way. |
