Bon tricot!

There must be an error in the pattern and chart? I am knitting the m size. All correct till I get to the no 1 increase, I have 28 times 8 sts for pattern chart then I am to Inc 40 sts which will give me 264 but this does not divide equally into 9 sts 28 time repeat chart there are 12 sts too many. If increase no 1 is out so will the rest of arrows to number 4. Am I going to have to rip out my work?
13.07.2022 - 16:35DROPS Design answered:
Hi Theresa, At arrow 1, you increase 40 stitches as you say, which leaves you with 264 stitches. Pattern A.1 continues with 8 stitch repeat (x 33 ) until arrow 2 when you increase a further 45 stitches. You now have 309 stitches. Knit 1 round then begin the 9 stitch repeat x 34 with 3 stitches left over at the end of the round which are K1 twisted, P2. Hope this helps and happy knitting!

Knitted jumper with ¾ sleeves in DROPS Nord. Piece is knitted top down with round yoke and lace pattern on yoke. Size: S - XXXL
DROPS 230-35 |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. Choose diagram for your size. INCREASE/DECREASE TIP (evenly): To calculate how to increase/decrease evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 124 stitches) and divide stitches by number of increases/decreases to be done (e.g. 46) = 2.7. In this example increase by making 1 yarn over after approx. every 3rd stitch. On next round knit yarns over twisted to avoid holes. To decrease in this example knit approx. every 2nd and 3rd stitch together. DECREASE TIP (applies to mid under sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread and knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work neck edge and yoke in the round on circular needle from right shoulder at the back, top down. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. Work the body in the round on circular needle. Work sleeves in the round on double pointed needles/a short circular needle. NECK EDGE: Cast on 124-130-134-140-144-150 stitches on a short circular needle size 2.5 mm with DROPS Nord. Knit 1 round. Then work rib (= knit 1 twisted/purl 1) for 4 cm. When rib is done, knit 1 round while at the same time increasing 46-48-52-56-60-62 stitches evenly - read INCREASE/DECREASE TIP = 170-178-186-196-204-212 stitches. Then work yoke as explained below. YOKE: Switch to circular needle size 3 mm. Insert 1 marker at beginning of round (right shoulder at the back), measure yoke from this marker! Work in stocking stitch until piece measures 2-2-3-3-4-5 cm from marker. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Knit 1 round while increasing 46-46-54-60-60-60 stitches evenly = 216-224-240-256-264-272 stitches. Knit 1 round. Then work pattern - read explanation under. PATTERN: Work A.1 27-28-30-32-33-34 times in total in the round on yoke. Continue pattern. AT THE SAME TIME on every round marked with arrow in A.1 increase stitches evenly as explained below - remember INCREASE/DECREASE TIP: Arrow-1: Increase 36-40-44-50-54-60 stitches = 252-264-284-306-318-332 stitches. Arrow-2: Increase 42-45-49-51-60-67 stitches = 294-309-333-357-378-399 stitches. Arrow-3: Increase 18-27-35-43-54-57 stitches evenly = 312-336-368-400-432-456 stitches (there is now room for 39-42-46-50-54-57 repetitions with A.1). Arrow-4: Increase 16-20-20-28-28-44 stitches evenly = 328-356-388-428-460-500 stitches. When A.1 has been worked, continue in stocking stitch without increases. Work until piece measures 19-21-23-25-27-29 cm from marker by the neck. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves and work last round as follows: Slip the first 68-74-82-90-94-98 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-10-12-12 new stitches on needle (in the side under sleeve), work 96-104-112-124-136-152 stitches in stocking stitch (front piece), slip the next 68-74-82-90-94-98 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-10-12-12 new stitches on needle (in the side under sleeve), and work in stocking stitch over the last 96-104-112-124-136-152 stitches (back piece). Finish body and sleeves separately. NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE! BODY: = 208-224-244-268-296-328 stitches. Begin in the side under one sleeve, and work in stocking stitch. When piece measures 21 cm from division, knit 1 round while increasing 20-22-24-26-30-32 stitches evenly = 228-246-268-294-326-360 stitches. Switch to circular needle size 2.5 mm. Work rib in the (knit 1 twisted/purl 1) for 4 cm. Loosely cast off. Jumper measures approx. 48-50-52-54-56-58 cm from shoulder. SLEEVES: Slip the 68-74-82-90-94-98 stitches from thread in one side of piece on double pointed needles or a short circular needle size 3 mm and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 8-8-10-10-12-12 new stitches cast on under sleeve = 76-82-92-100-106-110 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in the middle of the 8-8-10-10-12-12 stitches under sleeve. Move the marker thread upwards when working; it should be used for decrease mid under sleeve. Begin round at the marker thread and work stocking stitch in the round. When piece measures 2 cm from division, decrease 2 stitches mid under sleeve - read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 2-2-1½-1½-1½-1½ cm 4-5-8-9-9-9 times in total = 68-72-76-82-88-92 stitches. Work until sleeve measures 22-21-19-18-16-15 cm from division. 4 cm remain until finished measurements. Knit 1 round while decreasing 8-10-12-14-16-16 stitches evenly – remember INCREASE/DECREASE TIP = 60-62-64-68-72-76 stitches. Switch to double pointed needles size 2.5 mm. Work rib in the (knit 1 twisted/purl 1) for 2 cm. Knit 1 round while doubling the number of stitches by making 1 yarn over after every stitch the entire round = 120-124-128-136-144-152 stitches. Switch to a short circular needle size 3 mm. Work 4 rounds in stocking stitch (on first round always knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes). Cast off with double yarn. Sleeve measures approx. 26-25-23-22-20-19 cm from division. Work the other sleeve the same way. |
