SWEATERS: Gauge: 8 sts x 12 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm. Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Knitting tips: All decs are made on right side rows. Dec for armholes inside 4 edge sts and for the neck inside of 2 edge sts. Before edge sts: K 2 tog. After edge sts: slip 1, K 1, psso. Front (Pullover): Cast on 34-38-42 sts. Knit 2 rows garter st, then knit stockinette st. When the piece measures 8-8-9 cm inc 1 st at each side = 36-40-44 sts, repeat inc when the piece measures 17-19-20 cm = 38-42-46 sts. When the piece measures 25-28-31 cm bind off 2 sts at each side for armhole. Dec 1 st at each armhole 2-4-5 times every other row inside 4 edge sts - see knitting tips = 30-30-32 sts. When the piece measures 40-44-48 cm put the center 6-6-6 sts on a st holder for the neck. Right front (cardigan): Knit the same as the left reversing shaping - and make buttonholes (= bind off the 3rd st from center front and cast on 1 new st over the bound-off st on the next row). Make buttonholes when the piece measures: 2-2-2 cm, 10-11-11 cm, 17-19-20 cm, 25-27-30 cm and 32-36-39 cm. Make 1 buttonhole in neck band. Back (Pullover + cardigan): Cast on and knit the same as the front on the pullover, but bind off for neck when the piece measures 44-48-52 cm. Bind off the center 10-10-10 sts center for the neck. Dec 1 st at each neck edge on the next row = 9-9-10 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 46-50-54 cm. Sleeve (Pullover + cardigan): Cast on 20-20-22 sts. Knit 4 rows garter st, then knit stockinette st. When the piece measures 8-8-8 cm inc 1 st at each side 5-6-6 times every 9-7-7 cm = 30-32-34 sts. When sleeve measures 49-48-46 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 2 sts 1-1-1 time, 1 st 3-5-6 times and 2 sts 1-1-1 time. Bind off, the piece measures approx. 58-59-59 cm. Assembly (Pullover): Sew right shoulder. Pick up approx. 30 sts around the neck (including sts from st holder). Knit 4 rows garter st, bind off. Sew left shoulder and side of neckband. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams. Assembly (cardigan): Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx. 30 - 34 sts around the neck (including sts on st holders). Knit 2 rows garter st, making buttonhole above others in button band in 2nd row. Knit 2 more rows garter st, bind off. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams. Sew on buttons. PURSE: Sizes: width: 28 cm, height: 32 cm. Materials: Garnstudio IGLOO 60% wool, 40% acrylic/100 g./65 m 200 g. col. no. 4, olive. 100 g. col. no. 5, burgundy. DROPS Embroidered Band A (olive/burgundy): 125 cm Alternate yarns: The following yarns may be used double-strand: * Garnstudio ALASKA, 100% pure new wool, 50 g/75 m * Garnstudio VIENNA, 90% mohair, 10% polyester, 50 g./95 m DROPS 8 mm needles, or size needed to obtain correct gauge. Gauge: 9 sts x 14 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Purse: Cast on 27 sts with olive. Knit 2 rows garter st, then knit stockinette st. When the piece measures 12 cm change to burgundy. When the piece measures 22 cm change to olive. When the piece measures 31 cm put sts on a holder. Make a second piece. Assembly: Put the pieces together with wrong sides facing, and knit across the sts from both pieces (put right hand needle through 1 st from each piece and knit them together), then bind off all sts. Sew side seams. Sew on bands, at each color change. Shoulder strap: Cut 15 strands olive and 3 strands burgundy approx. 220 cm each. Divide strands into 3 and braid. The braid will be approx. 120 cm long, knot at each end, leaving approx. 7-8 cm long tufts remaining at each end. Sew to each side of purse in corners. HAT: Sizes: Head measurement: approx. 56 cm Materials: Garnstudio ALASKA, 100% pure new wool, 50 g/75 m. 100 g. col. no. 51, olive heather DROPS 5 mm needles, or size needed to obtain correct gauge. Gauge: 17 sts x 22 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm Garter st, when knitting in the round: *Rnd 1, knit. Rnd 2, purl.* Repeat from * - *. Pattern: The hat is knit in the round with the wrong side out then turned right side out to wear – this is important for best results. The pattern is divisible by 4 sts. Rounds 1 and 3: P all sts Round 2: * (K 1, P 1, K 1) in 1 st , then P 3 tog*, repeat from * - *. Round 4: * P 3 tog, (K 1, P 1 , K 1) in the next st * , repeat from * - *. Repeat these 4 rows. Hat: Cast on 92 sts; join and place a marker at the join (this is the center back). Knit garter st for 4 cm. Then knit pattern - see instructions above - begin each row at the marker. When the hat measures 24 cm K 2 tog across all sts on row = 46 sts. Repeat on the next row= 23 sts. Pull a double strand of yarn through the remaining sts and fasten. Turn right side out. |
