Hi, I'm working on the back and I'm about to do the shaping for the neck. When it says bind of the middle 26sts, won't I need to reattach the yarn to the first part of the back (where I started the bind off)? i.e. Will each part, either side of the middle bind off, be worked separately? Thanks, Carole
27.01.2018 - 15:47DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Stevenson, after binding off the middle sts for neck, you will now work each shoulder separately, ie work first shoulder from the bound off sts for neck towards armhole leaving sts from other shoulder unworked, then when 1st shoulder has been bound off, take sts from 2nd shoulder back on needle and work the same way as 1st one. Happy knitting!

I’ve knitted the front part of the cardigan with the first 8 rows in garter (56 sts) and then the pattern with cables (68 sts) and now when the height is 10 cm my front part of the cardigan is not 24.5 cm wide, but 38 cm wide, not 24.5 cm which I need for my size (46 cm back) Can you help?
22.01.2018 - 20:33DROPS Design answered:
Dear Basia, when working pattern afterwards cables will tighten the piece in width, make sure you get (and keep) correct tension, ie 20 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stocking st, and your piece will get same measurements as in chart. Happy knitting!

Dear DROPS design, thanks a lot for your quick reply. I will have a go at knitting this cardigan, but it's difficult as I haven't knitted for a long time. Is it OK to send my questions if I have any later on? Basia

Hampagne cardigan DROPS 140/1 Pattern no li-023 Description says: "20 sts=10 cm” so: 2 sts =1cm). The graphic with the measurements (in cm) at the bottom of the pattern shows the MEDIUM size back piece is 46cm wide. According to the gauge 92 sts gives 46 cm (2 x 46=92) as 2 sts = 1cm. But the instructions say knit 114 sts, not 92 sts for size: M. Why?When I follow the instructions and knit 114 sts for size M, the back is 57cm wide, not 46cm as in the picture.
16.01.2018 - 23:47DROPS Design answered:
Dear Basia, gauge is worked in stocking st while pattern will be worked with cables that's why you don't find same measurements as in chart. If your tension in stocking st is right, you should get the same measurements as shown in chart. Happy knitting!

(cf ici). Bon tricot!

Bonjour, Il me semble avoir trouvé une erreur.
Bon tricot!

When piece measures 49-49-49-46-46-44 cm (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and broader shoulder width) cast off for sleeve cap at beg of every row in each side as follows: 4 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 1-2-3-3-4-7 times, then cast off 2 sts in each side until piece measures 57-58-59-56-57-58 cm, cast off 3 sts in each side, then cast off the remaining sts, piece measures approx. 58-59-60-57-58-59 cm.
