Knitting tension: 17 sts x 22 rows stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm Measuring tip: Due to yarn weight ensure to measure all lengths when piece is held up or piece will be too long on completion. Garter st: Knit all rows. Pleat: See diagram M.1 and M.2. Diagrams are seen from RS. Rib: * K3, P3 *, repeat from *-*. Buttonhole: Cast off for buttonholes on right front band. Cast off for buttonholes on 4th, 6th and 8th P part from bottom edge when front edge measures 3 cm. 1 buttonhole = cast off 2nd sts i P part. On next row cast on 1 new sts over cast off sts. Jacket: Remember knitting tension! Read Measuring tip! Knit piece back and forth on circular needles. Cast on 174-210-222-258-302-322 sts on circular needles size 4.5 mm with Silke-Alpaca. Knit 4 rows garter sts – see explanation above. Continue in stocking sts. Insert 2 marking threads or stitch markers into piece, 1 after 28-32-35-39-45-50 sts and 1 after 86-98-107-119-137-152 sts (back piece = 58-66-72-80-92-102 sts). Change to needle size 4 mm and knit 10 rows garter sts: Continue in stocking sts again on needle size 4.5 mm. When piece measures 25 cm inc 1 sts on each side of both marking threads or stitch markers (= 4 inc per row) on every 1-1-1½.-1½.-1½.-2.cm 7 times in total. At the same time when piece measures 27 cm cast off to shape neckline mid front as follows: Cast off 1 sts every 3.cm 9-9-10-11-11-12 times in total. At the same time when piece measures 34-35-36-37-38-39 cm cast off 3 sts on each side of both marking threads or stitch markers, continuing knit each part separately. When piece measures 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm cast off middle 18-18-20-22-22-24 sts for neckline. Continuing cast off 1 sts on next row at neckline = 22-23-23-23-24-24 sts left on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm. Front piece: Continue casting off for neck and cast off for armhole like back piece. After all cast offs there are 22-23-23-23-24-24 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm. Sleeves with pleats and a lot of width: Knit piece back and forth on needle. Cast on 40-42-44-46-48-50 sts (incl 1 edge sts on each side) on needle size 4 mm with Silke-Alpaca. Knit 10 rows garter sts. Continuing knitting on needle size 4.5 mm in stocking sts, at the same time on 1st row knit 2 sts in each sts = 80-84-88-92-96-100 sts. On next row inc 10-17-13-20-27-34 sts evenly distributed = 90-101-101-112-123-134 sts. When piece measures 34-32-30-29-27-26 cm knit next row as follows – from RS: 1 edge sts, M.1. 8-9-9-10-11-12 times in total (= 88-99-99-110-121-132 sts decreased to 48-54-54-60-66-72 sts), 1 edge sts = 50-56-56-62-68-74 sts. Change to needle size 4 mm and knit 10 rows garter sts. Continuing, knit stocking sts on needle size 4.5 mm. At the same time when piece measures 39-37-35-34-32-31 cm inc 1 sts on each side on every 1 -2 -1.5 – 2 – 2.5 – 3 cm in total 7-5-7-6-5-5 times = 64-66-70-74-78-84 sts. When piece measures 48-47-46-46-45-45 cm cast off for sleeve top – see explanation under instructions for knitting normal sleeves. Normal sleeve with garter sts at bottom: Knit piece back and forth on needle. Cast on 40-42-44-46-48-50 sts (incl 1 edge sts on each side) on needle size 4 mm with Silke-Alpaca. Knit 10 rows garter sts. Continuing, knit stocking sts on needle size 4.5 mm at the same time inc 6 sts evenly on 1st row = 46-48-50-52-54-56 sts. When piece measures 8 cm inc 1 sts on each side on every 4.5 – 4.5 -4 – 3.5 – 3 – 2.5 cm in total 9-9-10-11-12-14 times = 64-66-70-74-78-84 sts. When piece measures 48-47-46-46-45-45 cm cast off for sleeve top. Sleeve top: Cast off to shape sleeve top on each side on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3-3-3-3-4-4 times, 1 sts 0-2-3-3-3-4 times, continuing cast off 2 sts on each side until piece measures 54-55-55-55-56-57 cm, then cast off 3 sts 1 times on each side. Cast off remaining sts, piece measures approx 55-56-56-56-57-58 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew sleeve seams on sew in sleeves. Front edge: Pick up 230 to 260 sts on circular needle size 4 mm around neckline and down along both front edges. Knit 1 row garter sts from WS – at the same time inc evenly to 255-267-279-291-303-315 sts (dividable with 6 + 3). Continue as follows: - from bottom edge: 3 sts garter sts, Rib * P3, K3 *, complete with P3 and 3 sts garter st. Remember to closed off for button hole – see explanation above. When piece measures 6 cm slip bottom 36 sts on each side onto a thread or stitch holder. Continuing, at the same time slip 6 new sts onto thread or stitch holder on each side on every other row 8 times in total. At the same time when piece measures 7 cm inc 1 sts on each K part on neck back and 12-14 cm down each front piece. When 84 sts on each side are slipped onto thread or stitch holder slip all sts back onto needle. Knit 1 row over all sts. Cast off with K over K and P over P. Front edge should now measure approx 13 – 14 cm on the widest spot. |
