Hei Susanne.

Bon tricot!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked as follows on the next round: BEFORE MARKER: Slip the yarn-over off the left needle and replace it the other way round (insert the left needle through the back when replacing it). Knit the front loop to avoid a hole. Then work the new stitch in stocking stitch. AFTER MARKER: Knit through the back loop of the yarn-over to avoid a hole. Then work the new stitch in stocking stitch. INCREASE TIP (evenly spaced): To work out how to increase evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g., 170 stitches) and divide by the number of increases to be made (e.g., 30) = 5.7. In this example, increase by making 1 yarn over after approx. each 6th stitch. On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. SLEEVE TIP: When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can get a small hole in the transition between stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down and from the right back shoulder. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for the body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked top down, in the round. NECK: Cast on 92-96-100-104-108-112 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and DROPS Air. Work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 3-3-3-3½-3½-3½ cm. The round begins on the right back shoulder. Insert 1 marker after the first 32-33-34-35-36-37 stitches (approx. mid-front); the yoke is measured from here. YOKE: Change to circular needle size 5 mm. Insert 4 markers, without working the stitches and each marker being inserted in 1 stitch – these are the raglan-stitches and are worked in stocking stitch, as follows. Insert marker-1 in the first stitch, count 15 stitches (= sleeve), Insert marker-2 in the next stitch, count 29-31-33-35-37-39 stitches (= front piece), Insert marker-3 in the next stitch, count 15 stitches (= sleeve), Insert marker-4 in the next stitch, there are 29-31-33-35-37-39 stitches left after the last marker (= back piece). Work stocking stitch and increase for RAGLAN – read description above, as follows: ROUND 1: Increase on each side of all raglan-stitches (= 8 increased stitches). – NOTE: At the beginning of the round, increase after raglan-stitch-1 and at the end of the round increase before raglan-stitch-1. ROUND 2: Knit. Work ROUNDS 1 and 2 a total of 7-8-10-13-12-10 times (= 14-16-20-26-24-20 rounds worked) = 148-160-180-208-204-192 stitches. Remember to maintain the knitting tension. Continue with stocking stitch and increase for raglan as follows: ROUND 1: Increase on each side of all 4 raglan-stitches (= 8 increased stitches). ROUND 2: Knit. ROUND 3: Increase only on the front and back pieces (i.e., after raglan-stitches 2 and 4 and before raglan-stitches 3 and 1– do not increase on the sleeves (= 4 increased stitches). ROUND 4: Knit. Work ROUNDS 1 to 4 a total of 8-8-8-7-9-11 times (= 32-32-32-28-36-44 rounds worked = you have increased 8-8-8-7-9-11 times on sleeves and 16-16-16-14-18-22 times on the front and back pieces) = 244-256-276-292-312-324 stitches. The increases for raglan are finished; you have increased a total of 23-24-26-27-30-32 times on the front and back pieces and 15-16-18-20-21-21 times on sleeves. Continue with stocking stitch but without further increases until the yoke measures 21-22-24-25-27-29 cm from the marker mid-front. Now divide for the body and sleeves. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: Place the first 47-49-53-57-59-59 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 10-12-14-16-18-22 stitches (under sleeve), knit 75-79-85-89-97-103 (= front piece), place the next 47-49-53-57-59-59 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 10-12-14-16-18-22 stitches (under sleeve), knit 75-79-85-89-97-103 (= back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. BODY: = 170-182-198-210-230-250 stitches. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the 10-12-14-16-18-22 cast on stitches under one sleeve. Work to the marker; the round now begins here. Continue with stocking stitch in the round until the piece measures 43-45-47-48-50-52 cm from the marker mid-front. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 30-34-34-38-42-46 stitches evenly on the first round – read INCREASE TIP = 200-216-232-248-272-296 stitches. When the rib measures 4-4-4-5-5-5 cm cast off a little loosely. The jumper measures approx. 47-49-51-53-55-57 cm from the marker mid-front and 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm from top of shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 47-49-53-57-59-59 sleeve-stitches from one thread on circular needle size 5 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 10-12-14-16-18-22 stitches cast on under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 57-61-67-73-77-81 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 10-12-14-16-18-22 stitches under the sleeve. Start at the marker-thread and work stocking stitch in the round. When the sleeve measures 2 cm, decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 3½-3½-2½-2½-2-1½ cm a total of 10-10-13-14-16-18 times = 37-41-41-45-45-45 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 37-37-35-35-33-32 cm from the division. Knit 1 round and decrease 5 stitches evenly on the round = 32-36-36-40-40-40 stitches. Now work the flounces as follows: Work A.1, 8-9-9-10-10-10 times on the round. When A.1 is finished there are 56-63-63-70-70-70 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch until the sleeve measures 45-45-43-43-41-40 cm from the division. Work 1 round of rib (knit 1, purl 1). Cast off a little loosely. |
