When you talk about knitting the seed stitch pattern until the piece measures 8 1/4", does that include the ribbing? Thanks

Dear Margie, you measure from cast on row, ie including ribbing. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Could you please tell me how I would preform the increase in moss stitch on the first round without coming out of pattern. I asked this question previously but you must have misunderstood me as you just repeated what was stated in the pattern. I know I need to increase but I am not sure how to do so in moss stitch.
19.02.2013 - 16:10DROPS Design answered:
Dear Renee, to inc evenly 10 sts after the rib, you can inc after every 11th st, a total of 10 times to get the 120 sts. First pattern round is moss st, so it will interupt the rib worked before. Happy knitting!

Question-Cast on 110 stitches, knit 1 round, pearl 1 round, knit 1 round, and so on, until the rib is 1 1/2 inches. Switch needle size then knit, purl, knit, purl, while increasing 10 stitches evenly. So after every eleventh stitch I increase one, for a total of 10 stitches increased? Piece gets approximately 8 1/2 inches long (including rib) I knit 1 round decreasing 30 stitches (so after every 3rd or 4th stitch) evenly.
10.02.2013 - 05:19DROPS Design answered:
Dear Denise, it looks correct this way. Happy knitting!

07.02.2013 - 16:53DROPS Design answered:
Dear Renee, the 10 sts are inc on the first row moss st worked after the ribs, so that you have 4 cm rib K1/1P and then on next row, work moss st, at the same time inc 10 sts evenly on the round. Happy Knitting !

Det går jättebra med mosstickning 1 r, 1 a som i detta mönster. Även 2 r, 2 a hade gått, då man ju stickar runt!

Hej!

Knitted DROPS hat in ”Lima” or "Puna".

SEED ST: 1st round: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from *-*. 2nd round: K over P and P over K. Repeat 2nd round. GARTER ST (in the round on circular needle): * P 1 round and K 1 round *, repeat from *-*. -------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked in the round on circular needle/double pointed needles. Cast on 110-120 sts on circular needle size 3 mm / US 2or3 with Lima and K 1 round. Then work rib = K 1/P 1. When rib measures 4-4 cm / 1½"-1½", switch to circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4. Work in SEED ST - see explanation above - while AT THE SAME TIME inc 10-8 sts evenly on 1st round = 120-128 sts. When piece measures 21-22 cm / 8 1/4"-8 3/4'', K 1 round while at the same time dec 30-28 sts evenly = 90-100 sts on round. Switch to double pointed needles and finish piece in GARTER ST - see explanation above - AT THE SAME TIME on first P round insert 9-10 markers 10 sts apart. Then dec as follows on next K round: K 2 tog after every marker - repeat dec on every K round (i.e every other round) until 9-10 sts remain. Cut the yarn and pull it through all sts and tighten tog. Fasten the ends. |
