How to cast on with 2 circular needles to get a looser cast on edge

In this DROPS video we show how you can cast on with two circular needles. We sometimes recommend this in our patterns to prevent the cast on edge being too tight. When you have cast on the required number of stitches, you pull out one circular needle and start to knit. In this video, we cast on with needle 7 and 8 = US 10,75 and US 11, and it is needle 8 = US 10,75 that we pull out. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. In dat patroon neem je steken op voor de sjaalkraag eerst langs de ene kant van de hals, dan over de schouder, dan over de achterkant en dan langs de andere kant van de hals. Je breit vervolgens de steken heen en weer op de rondbreinaald. Er wordt inderdaad niet in de rondte gebreid, maar het gaat makkelijker met een rondbreinaald, vandaar dat een rondbreinaald geadviseerd wordt.

De reden dat een rondbreinaald wordt gebruikt is omdat deze makkelijk meebuigt met de ronding van de hals. Verder passen de steken dan ook makkelijker op de naald.
