DROPS Design :

Dear Mabe, in this pattern you will first increase then decrease in the section purled, seen from the RS. After you have increased the first time, you work in rib K1, P2, seen from the RS (from WS K the K and P the P). Hope this can help. Happy knitting!

Hei Natasha. Litt usikker på hva du mener, men når du strikker en vrangbord med 2 rett / 2 vrang, for så å øke 1 maske vrangpartiene, slik at det blir 2 rett / 3 vrang, da fortsetter du med 2 rett / 3 vrang. Strikker du en slik vrangbord til en høy hals som skal brettes, vil det se litt bedre ut om siste delen av vrangborden strikker med 2 rett / 3 vrang. Du øker slik du ser i videoen, eller med et kast som strikkes vridd på neste omgang (for å unngå hull). mvh DROPS Design

When you are told to make a yarn over (yo) on the purl side of your work, you make the yo exactly as when done on the right side. In this DROPS Video we show how to do so. On the next row you can create a hole by working into the front loop of the yarn over. Then we show again how to make the yarn over on purl side, and then on next row we work into the back loop to show how the yo (increase) that way can become invisible, and not create a hole.

This is an increase that creates a decorative hole. In the video we show 2 times how you increase 1 stitch by making a yarn over (yo) Halfway through the video we have turned the work and show you how to work the yo in front or back loop depending if you prefer a larger or smaller hole. When working the back loop the stitch becomes twisted and this way the hole becomes a bit smaller.

Here is a great almost invisible method to increase by knitting a new stitch in the loop from the stitch on previous row. You can do it after or before a stitch just as we show in the video. Right side: put your left needle through stitch 2 rows below the stitch on the right needle. Lift it up on your left needle and knit it in the back loop. Left side: put your right needle into the stitch under the first stitch on your left needle. Pick up the loop and put it on your left needle. Knit this new stitch in the front loop, and also knit following stitch separate as usual. This is also a great method when you need to inc two stitches right next to each other, without having to work a stitch between them. You can knit 1, make a inc in the st below, then make an inc in the st below next st, then knit that st.

A common and very easy method to increase 1 stitch – there will be a little hole. In our video we show twice how you make a loop on right needle with the working thread away from you. You can make the increased stitch lean in different directions. If you want the inc stitch to lean to the left you make a loop on right needle with the working thread towards you.

When you want to shape a piece and make it larger you add stitches, you increase (inc). Most common is to make your increases on rows from right side (RS). There are many different ways to increase. In this video we are inc 1 stitch by knitting 2 stitches in 1 stitch.
