In this DROPS video we show you how to crochet an easy waffle pattern. This pattern can be used in for example cloths, pot holders or blankets. Start by chaining a row with a number of stitches multiple with 3 + 4. In the video we chain a row with 15+4. Work 19 chain stitch. Row 1: Work 1 double crochet in the 2nd chain stitch from the hook, 1 double crochet in each of the next 17 chain stitch, 2 chain stitch and turn. Row 2: Work 1 double crochet in the 1st / next double crochet, 1 double crochet around the double crochet from the last row, and then 1 double crochet in each of the 2 next double crochet , repeat - until there is 1 stitch left, finish with 1 double crochet in the 2nd chain stitch. Work 2 chain stitch and turn. Row 3: Work 1 double crochet in the 1st / next double crochet, 1 double crochet around each of the 2 next double crochet from the last row repeat -, until there is 1 stitch left, finish with 1 double crochet in the 2nd chain stitch. Work 2 chain stitch and turn. Repeat row 2 and 3 until wanted size. Finish with 1 double crochet in each double crochet from last row. In the video we use the yarn DROPS Snow.

How to turn 1 strand into 3 from the same ball of yarn

In this DROPS video we how to make 3 strands out of 1 single strand from a ball of yarn. 1. Make a simple loop (like the loop worked when you begin any crochet project) and pull it to approx. 2-3 cm = ¾"-1⅛" in length. 2. Thread the strand from the skein through this loop, creating a new loop of approx. 40-50 cm = 15¾"-19¾". 3. Lay this loop alongside the working strand, so 1 strand becomes 3 strands. 4. Knit or crochet using these 3 strands until there is approx. 2 cm = ¾" left. Repeat points 2 to 4.

How to join 2 pieces, then bind off with I-cord

In this DROPS video we show you how to join 2 pieces together (A and B), then binding off with an I-cord. Place all the stitches from A and B on the same needle, so that every second stitch on the needle belongs to A and B. We bind off with I-cord as follows: - Cast on 3 stitches onto the right needle. Slip the 3 stitches from the right needle onto the left needle with the working strand now situated 3 stitches in on the left needle. - ROW 1 (= right side): Knit 2, knit 3 twisted together (i.e., 1 stitch from the front piece and 1 stitch from the back piece is decreased). Slip 3 stitches from the right needle back onto the left needle. Do not turn (working like this tightens the working strand so the piece forms a small tube). - Repeat ROW 1 until there are 3 stitches left. Bind off and fasten all strands.
