Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from inches to cm - click here. There are different terms for crocheting in American and British English. If this pattern includes crochet, click for "crochet terms" here. For this pattern in British English, please click here.

See diagram A.1. The diagram is worked in double crochets, i.e. 1 square in the diagram is equivalent to 1 double crochet.

When changing colors work as follows: Work the last double crochet with the first color, but wait with the last pull through, change to the next color and work the pull through with the new color, then work the next double crochet.
When working with 2 colors, lay the strand of the color you are not working with over the stitches from the previous row and work around the strand so that it is hidden in the stitch, in this way the strand is carried forward (make sure this strand does not tighten the piece).

Use the strand from both the inside and outside of the ball. So that it is not so thick where the strand-ends are fastened, it is a good idea not to change both strands at the same time. It is also a good idea to fasten the strands by laying them along the stitches from the previous row so that they are fastened by working around the strands as you continue.

The first double crochet at the beginning of the row is replaced by 3 chain stitches, the row is finished with 1 dc in the third chain stitch at the beginning of the previous row.

The piece is worked back and forth with pattern according to the diagram. You work with 2 strands at the same time. Work 73 chain stitches with hook size 7 mm and 2 strands dark gray – read DOUBLE STRAND TIP. Work 1 double crochet in the 4th chain stitch from the hook (= 2 double crochets) – read CROCHET INFO, work 1 double crochet in each of the next 5 chain stitches, * skip 1 chain stitch, work 1 double crochet in each of the next 7 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* to end of row = 63 double crochets. Continue by working A.1 back and forth – read COLORED PATTERN and COLOR CHANGE! REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! Make sure that the color you are not working with does not lie on the wrong side of the piece and do not work tightly. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! Cut and fasten the strand when A.1 has been completed.
